I get so muddled - and I do read all I can - but I cannot understand why caffeine does not make your metabolism work faster...and therefore, what does it do to make it a no no for the diet? (( oops, I mean life plan)

Caffeine messes with your blood glucose, dropping it and raising it to extremes. If your blood glucose fluctuates too high, insulin kicks in and you drop out of ketosis, losing the "metabolic advantage" of the Atkins plan.
