Hi there

I'm from Victoria, Australia and am in the process of reading the new Dr Atkins book. Am planning to start induction in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing tips. If anyone has any tips on keeping the cost of the diet down (meat isn't cheap) then I would love to hear from you.

Also does anyone find that here in Australia a lot of the ham and bacon is actually processed, and hence contains sugar!! This is really frustrating as I am constantly having to ask the assistant at the deli counter if the ham is straight off the bone or not. And it's not really clear what is and what isn't processed. Am confused!! Does anyone know if you can get unprocessed bacon here?

Look forward to chatting with you.

hi rose

even ham straight off the bone can contain sugars and stuff depending on how it was cured. it's cured whole so you never know unless you ask which is a downer :(

but welcome to the forum and good luck with it :)
