I am hoping some of the "seasoned" low carb-ers can answer this question.

My daughter has just recently started LC-ing. I have shared with her a LC protein shake I have in the mornings. The shake (according to Fit day) is 6 carbs. In addition to the protein powder - it has 1/2c of heavy whipping cream, Davinci SF flavoring syrup, an egg and ice. It is very filling. My daughter has been having a shake for breakfast and one for dinner two or three times this week.

My question is - will this "STALL" her? The carb count for the two shakes is 12 - and if she has a chicken breast or small salad for lunch, her carb count would be fairly low.

My first instict is to say "no, it wont stall her" as long as she's not eatting too few, or too many calories, and she'seatting enough veggies, drinking enough water, no hidden carbs (from protein bars, and other "low carb" foods)...etc.

I have one or two protein shakes (scoop designer whey chocolate protein powder, a little cream, water) a day, and it's never stalled me, but I'm also very active so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I wish I could give you a definite answer, but everyone's body reacts differently. The only way she'll know if its going to stall her is basically to try and see what happens.

Hope that helped a little, and I didn't confuse you even more :p

Good luck,

-Michelle
