My husband and I are on our 4th day of Induction. I sat down yesterday and calculated how many carbs we ate that day, and only came up with approx. 10!! Is it absolutely necessary to have exactly 20 carbs a day? I thought we were eating plenty, but when I figured everything out, we were low in carbs! I can't think of anything else to eat, that's allowed on Induction, to give us more carbs! Most lettuce and meat are very minimal in carbs (if any), and we're suppose to steer away from nuts and no more than 3 packets of Splenda! Where can I get the carbs?
I'm excited to weigh myself this coming Sunday, which will be the end of the first week. I really don't feel a huge difference, though, in weight or inches lost!! Does it take some people longer to lose the weight? Will I need to stay on Induction longer than the two weeks?
I would love to make the Mock Danish I found on this website, but have been told it would be best to stay clear of sweets, at least during Induction!!
Hoping for the best!!

You should also be having a cup of vegetables every day (broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, asparagus, etc.), so that would give you some carbs. Cheese and eggs and coffee and cream...all have a carb here and there...they add up! Eat your veggies!!!!

The main reason to eat your vegies and keep your carbs to 20 minimum are to avoid boredom on the diet. You will remain healthy on fewer carbs if you're taking multi-vitamins and other supplements. But, it also leaves you with little room for tweaking your diet if you ever hit a stall. So, to avoid boredom and to give yourself room to tweak, please do try to add more vegies and carbs that are healthy for you. Just don't worry about it overmuch - you're doing great on this way of life!

as a newbie here...can I ask a silly question? (I suppose even if you say no I am going to ask anyways!!) What do you mean by "tweaking in a stall?"

If you hit a stall, one where you're not losing weight or inches for several weeks, and you decide to lower your carbs again to try to combat the stall, wouldn't you prefer to do that from a position of 30/50/70/whatever carbs than try to lower from 20 or fewer? If you're already eating fewer than 20 carbs/day, you can't lower it and your body may decide to keep that set-point.
I, personally, don't want to be stuck at 20 carbs for the rest of my life! (Or, 30, either, which means I need to be upping mine sometime soon since I've been losing about a pound a day this week - even with a "cheat" on Wednesday.)

If you are only supposed to have 3 cups of veggies a day and you are not even close to 20g of carbs, should you eat more veggies or try to find other carbs?

Try and eat veggies with higher carbs like avocado, tomato..they'll soon get your carb numbers up.
