Hello,
Trying to find out if anyone has tried any food with Maltitol.
Example
Premium Select Coconut in (Sugar Free) Belgian Chocolate.
One bar = 1.2 oz.(34g),Calories = 180, Carbohydrates = 3.7g, Sugar = 0g,Total Fat =13.6g,Sat.Fat = 8g,Maltitol = 12.7g,Protein = 2.4g.
It saying sugar free and that Maltitol doesn't count for anything.
Help Please

Hi Jason!
Have a read through this link: http://www.lowcarb.ca/tips/tips006.html
It explains the use of artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohols and may help shed some light on your confusion.
Be careful if you do decide to go ahead and eat things with Maltitol in them after reading through the link. Maltitol can be a very powerful laxative and causes gas, bloating, intestinal cramping and diarrhea in many people if they consume more than just a little (or even just a little for some folks). Go easy until you know what effect they will have on you personally.

Hi Jason and LIsa, Funny thing, I can eat Ross'chocolate (in moderation) with no side effects. However, Russel Stover'gives me wicked gas (esp. the little caramels) Boy, they sure taste good tho'
I've been eating like a horse lately so haven't lost any weight in several weeks. However, am very pleased that I haven't gained anything either. Time to get serious again.
Bye for now,
