I need help. I know this is a silly question. :) Are Flintstone Vitamins okay during induction?

I don't have Flintstones in the house, but I do have Centrum for Kids, and the amounts of various vitamins are fairly equivalent to what I take in my multi-vitamin, but lacking in a lot of the minerals. I don't see things like potassium, magnesium, chromium, which could spell trouble in a low carb diet.
You'd truly be better off taking a multi-vitamin -mineral supplement. I understand some people have real difficulty swallowing big pills, but it's more psychological than anything else. I used to gag trying to get down a pill, but have learned to do it. Even those large "horse pills" are smaller than most foods you swallow. Just take a huge gulp of water with each pill.
Obviously, I'm assuming that that is the problem! ;)
Good luck.

There are adult chewables available. Be aware that chewables will always contain some kind of carb sweetener ... sucrose, fructose or honey. Granted, not a huge amount .. best to count 1g to be safe. Make sure to drink a big glass of water after, and swish around to get any bits that stick to your teeth .. the combination of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and sugar is BAD news for cavities. * note to parents * .. if your kids take chewable vitamins, make sure they drink a glass of water after (not sweet juice)
You could also try taking multiple vitamin-mineral supplements that you take 3 pills a day .. 1 at each meal. The pills are much smaller since there's a lower dose in each. These will usually have no sugar added.

It is always amazing the little bits of wisdom I pick up here - both LC and nonLC. I never thought to have my daughter drink some water after her morning vit - but I always wondered how good globs of that stuff stuck in her molars was for her teeth (since I assume the kids vitamins have their fair share of sugar!) Now I know! Thanks for a pearl of wisdom.
