Yes Katy, it is nonsense. Smallpox is nothing to take lightly.
The scarring is enough to put me at the front of the line to
get vaccinated.

You are very perceptive with keen analytical skills. John is
the author of the site.

I am relieved to hear someone else agree with me... :-) FYI,
the rumors running around the internet about the vaccines
being mandatory are also not true. I am in contact with the
epidemiologist at work that is working with the CDC on the
local programs and she states very firmly that the
vaccinations will be NOT be mandatory, but voluntary.
She told me today that Israel has completed their vaccination
program with the vaccinia vaccine, and there was not a single
death and the "complications" with a few folks were well below
the estimated outcome, and none were serious. She is trying to
get the actual statistics now.
"Demon in the freezer" is a non-fiction, recent account of the
current status of the old Russian bio-terrorism program and
the "missing" warheads loaded with smallpox. It also talks
about the disease itself, it's epidimiology and the details of
the eradications program undertaken by WHO. Great book and
scary as hell!
I'll take the vaccine. I survived it once, (the scar is on the
back of my left shoulder) so I am not afraid to take it again.
It's not some "bio-engineered" vaccine like the rumors on the
'net are telling, it's the old vaccinia vaccine that was used
back in the 70's.
If you want the TRUTH and more details, go to the CDC
website. There are currently some good videos that talk about
small pox.

The book was published earlier this year. :-) It is very up to
date......
Read it. It'll scare the hell out of you! It's
non-fiction......
Smallpox is not a joke and, contrary to what this stupid
webstite says, is highly contagious.
It used to kill about 2 million people per year world wide.

Bringing that back wouldn't worry the anti-vaccination liars
even a little bit. After all, I have been told that measles is
"benign" (about a million deaths a year) and that no vaccine
is needed for AIDS because that disease isn't a problem.
Don't be surprised that there is nonsense being spread about
the smallpox vaccine. Some of these people will say anything
if there is a possibility of frightening someone out of having
a vaccination or giving one to a child. Every couple of weeks
I see a story about how the thimerosal in the measles vaccine
causes autism (there has never been thimerosal in measles
vaccine), how vaccines are made from aborted foetuses and
Catholics will go to Hell if they vaccinate their kids (the
Catholic Church officially supports vaccination), and any
number of other lies that they know are not true.

And let's not forget only two strains are existance, and both
are held in maximum security facilities. I'd be fearlful of
nerve gas before small pox.
BTW, worst case senario you could always innoculate
yourself...of course that doesn't save the person who
already has the infection but desperate times call for
desperate measures.

Dr. Tenpenny, DO, the author of this paper, is also a
board-certified Emergency Medicine physician.
Additionally, she has authored another paper where she
seems to claim that routine tetanus immunizations aren't
necessary because if the disease doesn't kill you, you
will probably make a full recovery.
I'd love the opportunity to ask Dr. Tenpenny if she routinely
denies a tetanus shot to those unfortunate souls who show up
in her ER, having sliced their foot open on a piece of glass
in the backyard. Perhaps instead, she gives the patient a
glass of orange juice and a spinal manipulation...

I would love to see her practicing in the emergency room of
any accredited hospital. She wouldn't last 6 minutes before
she was removed. A nut case like that doesn't belong anywhere
near people.

See above. :-)
I'm not an MD, (just an MT ASCP) but I've been around
awhile... Diseases such as small pox are not to be taken
lightly!
You say she is a board certified MD? Damn that scares me!!!

Y'all have no idea how glad I am to see so many people
agreeing with me. :) I was worried there for a minute!
BTW, contrary to the crap going around on the 'net, the
vaccines are going to be VOLUNTARY not compulsory! MJ let me
read the CDC guidelines for the local implementation programs.

Once her malpractice isurance carrier gets wind of her
