I am just wondering if someone involved with this magazine is a low carber! ;)
I bought the christmas issue..... and all the recipes have total carb. counts. In addition, there is a double page advert for Splenda

I am off to Sainsbury's the moment I leave home.....
I think as the Diet industy in the UK is huge,,,, all the money makers are cottoning on to that fact and are now catering for us low carbers... added to the fact that at least 50% of UK dieters are in low Carbs it makes sense,...
Please share with us more news... Have you tried splenda...
What is it

Hi Tina
Splenda is a sugar substitute, like aspartamine. It is readily available in the US and is the preferred sweetner, having no carbs. It has only been available in the UK this year and so most UK based dieters will not have used it. There is mixed press about it as you will find if you do a search on this site.

Acutally Splenda in the US does have a bit of carbs in the packets - less than one carb per packet. The pourable stuff also has a bit of carbs - the liquid splenda, which is not available in the US has no carbs.

Hey, does that mean you can buy Splenda from Sainsbury's. I buy mine on line, but we have a Sainsbury's in my nearest big town - that would be so convenient!! Do tell if its true.

Im sure that if Sainsbury's are advertising it, they must be selling it in at least *some* of their stores, but the Sainsburys in my town doesn't have it.
You might check Somerfield... i've found it in there!

Ha, I was just going to say the same. We went to Somerfield, in our own little town today, and they sell Splenda!! Too good for words. I'm used to the little packets, so I'll have to convert to the powder for my recipes, but being able to buy it locally makes life so much easier :D
