Venitia

I have a 10 year history of frequent UTI's and it's not caused by Low Carb.

If anything, all the water you drink should be helpfull, as UTI's crop up more when the urine is stagnant.

If you've never had a UTI, or if it returns soon after going off antibiotics, you need to ask your doc about checking into this. There might be somethign going on that is causing repeated infections....or it could be just that the antibiotic wasnt' strong enough.

Diabetics also have a higher incidence of UTI's...and it's harder to treat then in some people.

Hi Cindy,

Thanks for the post. I have had other UTI's but it was about 6 years ago when my Adrenal Gland was out of whack. I had a lot of them at that time. I had the Gland removed and this is my first one since then. Scares me a little.I can't live without one gland I don't think. IT was about that time that I started to gain weight also. I can't seem to lose it,no matter how I try.

Shoot I've not eaten a bite of sugar(which I love) since the 11 of July. I pat mtself on the back for that. I will call my dr Monday and see what she says. I am taking Septra and it is definitely not working, I feel worse than when I started it.

Where do you live in NC. My best friend lives in Lumberton.

Drinking any kind of cranberry juice will help. There are sugar-free types and it's worth the carbs. try to drink a big bottle by tomorrow night. You can also find cranberry extract c apsules at health food stores which, I believe, have the same effect.

definitely call DR. is things don't improve quick. Anitbiotics usually work inside 2 days.

Hope you feel better soon.

Tofi,
Thanks for the advice. I wasn't aware there were cranberry juices that were sugar free. I have had what seems like a gallon of water today and seems to feel a little better. Well we have a tornado watch so will go get in the closet.(just kidding). Hope we don't have one. The events of last week could really get people down here in the south to thinking. But at least we don't have earthquakes. How's the weather up there?
