The Berkeley Wellness Letter, a standard low-fat publication, has a front-page blast against paleolithic diets in its latest issue. It's called "The Flintstone Diet" (http://www.berkeleywellness.com/html/wl/wlFeatured.html). See what you think of it.

Hi Sheldon
Oh well ,just another rant.
On “fat “ I remember some mention in a science show on TV .
It was about early human’s quest for fat. There was mention of fat and survival of the race??? Wish I could elaborate but this is all I remember.

I was told by my doctor a few years ago to cut back on carbs. I went the paleo way without even knowing it. I had never heard of it until this last year. I started eating meats, vegetables, and fruits. I felt so much better and I'd lost a lot of weight. A couple years ago I became concerned that I wasn't eating grains and things and added them in. I'm up 42 pounds since then. Today I'm started the meats/vegetables/fruits way of eating again, no matter what publications tell me otherwise.

Another "politically correct" piece of garbage from Berkeley. Just the title shows their sneering contempt and their inability to make a significant contribution to the field of nutrition.

This critique of vegetarianism (http://www.mercola.com/2002/feb/2/vegetarian.htm) looks excellent.

That's the best article I've ever read on the subject. I thank you for finding it and telling us about it. Lots of ammunition to use when we are attacked for being meat-eaters, as well as all of the nutritional, physical, psychological, political aspects of their scewed lifestyle.

The DJ on talkback gave vegetarians a belting today. He married one and she only cooked her menu cause she couldn't face meat in the kitchen at all. He ended up liking it for a few years. "But there's only so many ways to cook lentils". Their doc told them no meat diet for the daughter would knock off a small percentile -on average- of her IQ. The tide against meat in the kitchen changed a bit, and gradually took over. And now years later they laugh at people who say they're cutting out all meat, turning PETA, etc, but they can identify with them...
