I am trying to help a 64 year old relative. Male. Had a stroke 8 years ago. Healthy otherwise. Still very active. Statins for 8 years due to high cholesterol. Started a Low Carb diet (3 months ago) because of intestinal distress. Low Carb cured all gastric problems that the doctors couldn't find a cause for. (He had been on a very low fat, low calorie diet for years) Feels great now and can eat without gaining weight.

Now has slightly elevated CPK, BUN and Creatinine. I'm guessing muscle damage and kidney problems from Statins but I'm neither a Dr. nor a biochemist.

Anyone out there with information?

Please help if you can.

Vonnovich, I've moved your post to the General Health forum. I suspect you'll get more of a response in this forum than in the Schwarzbein one.
