Well, it has been 10 days now on little to no carbs and the ketostix still hasn't turned purple. I have lost 6 pounds though.

Congratulations!
One thing tho....you DO NOT want your stix to be purple. It would probably mean you are dehydrated. Remember that alot of what those stix read are false anyways....so please don't count on them. You are losing weight...keep following the "rules" and enjoy the results!!!
You may want to read some of the info pertaining to keto stix foundon the board.
I think you are doing a great job without them!

Dear sunnyak,
Just one piece of info to add to cindarella's excellent post:
I read a couple days ago on the web (sorry, don't remember exact place--I read a ton of health articles for my job, so I lose track sometimes) that there are various types of ketones, not all of which are registered by the ketostix, actually; and different people have varying levels of the different types. All of them contribute to ketosis, however--so, as long as your weight loss continues (though you probably won't, and shouldn't, be losing 6 pounds every 10 days), you don't need to question the ketostix results.
I wish you much success in your continued LC'ing!
