Accutane

Is anyone taking Accutane? Does that make it more difficult to lose weight or upset the insulin level?

I started my Accutane treatment a couple months ago and I gained a few lbs after that. I'm not sure if that has to do with Accutane.

I don't know how the Accutane effects weight loss (or gain)... maybe you should ask your Dermatologist?

My dermatologist wanted to put me on Accutane at the beginning of the year, I was not crazy about the idea... so I suffered, tried all the over the counter remedies, and the best solution I have found so far is living a low carb lifestyle ..... my skin is soooo clear! You might find that being low carb will improve your skin more than all the medications. (I actually have been able to stop taking my antibiotic and using my topicals).... Just a thought. :)

Sorry, cant help you on the weight gain question but.....

I always had acne {although not bad.... just always two or three}. I tried antibotics and had special topical cream from the Dr for it. Like Krazzybird, since starting low carbing my skin has completely cleared up. :D

Hi! I considered going on it at one point. According to the official insert with the medication, weight gain shouldn't be a side effect.

My acne greatly improved, too, with a low carb diet. When I'm off the wagon, it's written all over my face. :rolleyes:
