Hi Wa'il,

So sorry you weren't feeling well Sat, hope you're much better now.

Now for the business of this thread. Help! I've had problems printing some posts that I need a hard copy of. Some pages print with the header & footer but are blank in the middle. Since the header & footer lines print & sometimes even an avatar prints, I think it is an LC Canada problem, not the office printer. But what do I know, I'm no techie :( All my *real work * related stuff prints ok. The post that I've tried several times is from the LC Kitchen titled low carb chocolates. Today pages 1,2,3,4 & 6 printed okay but 5 was empty. Last week (twice) pages 1,4,5,6 printed okay but 2&3 didn't.

Similar problems happened with one of Doreen's posts on fibromyalgia.

So what do you think? Am I crazy, is the office printer wonky or is this something a/w the site/server?

Hi Ruth, thanks, I'm feeling much better, just a sour throat for now. :)

We'll be meeting again next week to welcome IslandGirl to Vancouver. Hope you can join us.

One question about printing. Does the page show up correctly on your browswer, or is it empty on both browser and printer?

hi Ruth,

Don't know what browser the office 'puter is working with .. but I can tell you that Internet Explorer has problems with printing web pages. I've had recent browser troubles myself (not printing) .. but if you pay a visit to the Microsoft Help and Support pages, you'll find a whole slew of problems, patches and trouble shooters for printing errors and glitches, in particular for IE 5.5. --- blank pages, portions missing etc .... Just last week, at a meeting with my finance consultant ... he went to print off some sensitive and important documents for me to sign .. and each copy not only had errors, but they were different error on each page of the same document!!

For now, the safest and surest way to get things printed is to copy and paste into a WordPad document and print from there. Takes a couple minutes longer, but saves all the frustration ... and TIME ... of having blank pages turn out.

Doreen

p.s. - Wa'il, glad you're feeling better ..:)

 and :o

This looks like it might be a browser problem (learning curve here). Print preview does show a blank page, does that mean browser? BTW, browser = Netscape.

thanks for the help Wa'il & Doreen

Hi Ruth,

Yes, if the browser shows the page, but the print preview doesn't, then more likely it's a browser problem.

Have you tried using the "Show a printable version"? It's a link at the bottom of each page that you may want to try.

If all fails, Doreen's suggestion always works, cut and paste into a notepad or word processor. :)

I didn't notice that link before. Wa'il, you've got so many features, shortcuts and tools built into this site. It'll be months b4 I have it all figured out. I like the way it formats, I'll use that in future. TTFN, Ruth
