Vancouver Dinner(?), June 24-27th ?

How's that for a range of dates?

I'm on course in Vancouver and being put up (gov'mint rate) downtown for the duration on these dates, and if I can't meet my fellow LCer's in there somewhere, I'll be vastly disappointed!

I'll have ya know I haven't even set up an evening with my Dad yet, who happens to live in West Van, cuz I want so much to meet with y'all!

I don't think I can do the 24th; my daughter is having a housewarming party and I haven't seen her new place yet (and I hardly ever get to see her, either). I'm only OK for the 25th and 26th. Is the 26th OK for everyone/anyone?

Yes, I saw the post, Tamarian, you sweet thing, but there wasn't any further info so I thought I'd post a reminder (now that it's confirmed & *signed for* (VERY important) at this end... [ evil grin icon needed here but this :p will do ]

As I have, potentially, all 4 nights free, and planned to do a bit of a mini-tour of Vancouver eateries (well, 4 of them and what I can afford), both the 24th and the 26th with two separate groups will work, hmmmmm? Tamarian, if you can make yourself the emcee and attend to perform introductions [ LOL! ] ?

As for locale, well I'm VERY curious about this Stepho's y'all attend regularly, and I have had illicit dreams about lurking in the kitchen (or someplace from which I could watch the kitchen) at the FishHouse ! tho a Busman's Holiday for Karen probably isn't all that popular [ grin! ] There speaks a foodie, though, which I am. Need a 'prentice, Karen?

Is the Teahouse any good (saw a chef, Exec? don't know...) on KCTS 9's Chefs VI program last weekend, they'll promo the Stuffed Mushrooms (Cream cheese, crab, Emmenthaler, etc.) if one mentions KCTS 9 .... yum!

I'm over here and you're over there... so I'm counting on you, Wa'il, to organize! [sorry, dear]

If it helps, they've booked me into the Renaissance, 1000-block W. Hastings. I'll have the vehicle but it will probably be parked for most of the time, but I can gad about if needed (and preferably NOT in 'rush hour'... I'd get lost for sure). I'm planning on trundling over as early (relatively speaking) on Sunday the 24th as poss, and will be gadding about, sucking up coffee and rubbernecking, I hope, for the Sunday afternoon. Needs must return Thursday the 28th, evening...

I'm really looking forward to seeing ya!

Rachel, Ruth and I stared at them in wonder! ;) We were together for 3 1/2 hours and never ran out of stuff to talk about! The whole meal is in my journal.

Great food - marinated octopus, fried cheese for appies, and roast lamb and Greek salad all round for main course. Great company - need I say more? And Judi and I completed the first swap initiated on our new Trading Post forum - I got rid of those Atkins bars I don't like, and gained 4 packages of low carb tortillas!

Well I would luv to join you all next time I am over! Hard for me to leave our homestead with all we have going on here (cats, chickens, turkeys) though. I'll be over in August for a cat show and would love to meet up with everyone if it possible.
