I'm not sure if you have been to this board or seen this explanation or not, but it sure made ME feel better about the way Body for Life has been working for me. Here it is the sixth week of my challenge, and I am FINALLY starting to see some results.

This site explains why

There's so much pressure to see quick results that it's easy to forget the point of this, which is quite frankly to save your life. Don't ignore increases in strength and overall feeling of health and well-being. Those are goals too.

I have strayed from the initial reason I started BFL to accomplish the goals in this quote.

Thanks Sherry for posting that link, everyone doing BFL should read it.

It strikes me how interesting that the various people I've shared this with have found different things about it that appealed to them. You were turned on by the "goal" part of it. I was excited about the part that says you have "marbleing" of fat in your muscles and that as you use it up you muscles get harder, also that your fat becomes "blubbery" because it hasn't had any circulation, but that when you work out and get the blood flowing it starts softening up.

I was also excited about the mention of just starting to see some results at 5 weeks. I'm just starting to see some myself right now right on schedule, like it said. (Of course I had to go back to low carb/BFL to give it a little push).

Kat who I shared it with was interested in the 3500 calories to lose a pound of fat thing.

It has a LOT of information in it. I should probably go back and read the whole website.

I went to your link and read the article and for me it made some issues clear. I feel a little puffy here at the end of week one and those places where I have a lot of fat seem all that more noticable to me. I do feel much stronger and flexible though. Lifting my leg to my desk and tying my shoe from a standing position was a breeze although after the effects of my first lower body workout kicked in its a chore sitting on the toilet. I knew going into this that I wasn't going to be skinny overnight and that working out has to be thought of as a regular daily activity for me when I reach my goal. Losing fat and weight has also made changes in my confidence. Now I plan activities for me and the kids to do instead of sitting on the couch watching movies all day on the weekend.
Sherry I am glad you are seeing that progess in yourself. Keep it up your an inspiration.

This was just the post I needed to read! :)

I was feeling pretty down tonight about my weight increase after 4 weeks of careful eating (Atkins) and exercising. But I did lose 1 inch around my hips and 1.5 inches at my waist & I can feel the difference. I am just frustrated that my weight is so high . . . but this article helped put things into perspective - I know that I feel better & I am healing my body, I just didn't understand why the scale didn't reflect the changes, and now I know! :)

Thanks again!
