You might need to cut down on the protein and add more fat. Excess protein converts to glucose and stalls weight loss.

What do you consider protein and what do you consider fat?
Know it is probably a dumb question but I am confused?

[COLOR=crimson]thank you for your help. I am trying to eat more fat but what would that be? If you could help again that would be great! I know bacon is but what about the sodium or does that even matter?

Ill stake a stab at this....

Bacon is concidered very little protein and more fat... yes it does have sodium.. if you eat bacon drink more water to help flush the excess salt...

one egg is concidered 1 carb... depending on the size of the egg.. but its a good rule of thumb to remember...

have protein and fat with breakfast if you want.. or you could also have protein (meat) fat ( butter, ect...) or even vegies... like a left over dinner...

there is no set pattern to what you eat for any meal... you can have dinner for breakfast , breakfast for dinner.... and so on.. i would try to portion out my daily carb count threw out the meals though... if you feel a need for a snack.. i would have protein or fat.. like ( cheese sticks, cheese slices, peporonie, ham rolls, cream cheese, ect..)

And dont compare your self with your friends... Not everyone will loose weight at the same rate... www.fitday.com is a great way to track your foods.. it lets you know your carb count for the day along with your protein count, fat count, fiber count... be sure to minus the fiber you intake daily from your daily carb count..

Keep up the good work.. Also I would stay away from alcoholic beverages.. Because as stated earlier your body will burn the alcohol first before burning fat... and can throw your body temperarly out of ketosis...

If you are in ketosis you are burning fat... As mentioned above not everyone will burn large amounts at a time... some do burn slower... also dieting in the past can play a part in it... Dont give up.. there are greater advantages than loosing weight with this diet than alot of people know... How you feel is one of them.. haveing energy, and just knowing your doing better for your body and health...

Hope this helps some

I think you should consider starting a journal in our journal section and listing your daily foods......we will be able to help much more if we can see what you are eating and if there is any pattern. Also, how much you are drinking too. You shouldn't have to worry about eating too much protein unless you are eating 400+ Grams a day, which I don't think you are, not many people can, trust me.

Once we can see your daily food and how much of each thing, we may be able to help.

:D i know that writing a journal would help but i really have NO time and by the time i do i forget what i ate! I have a 4 yr. old, 2 yr. old, and a 5 mos.old....
I definitly am not eating 400 grams of protein a day but i could drink more water. I dont drink alchohol but i love diet soda and coffee! I usually have bacon eggs and cheese for breakfast,
2 burgers w/ cheese for lunch,
and steak or chicken for inner w/ bacon. If i want to snack I have pork rinds, or bacon, cheese or whipped cream w/ atkins syrup.
Does that sound like a normal day?
Thanx again all for your help! :help:

Ahh,,,You need your green vegies..... Eating less the 20 gms of carbs is not helpful. You can eat 20 grams of carbs and should. To do so, you can eat some green leafy vegetables, like Romaine lettuce, or broccoli is another very good source of carbs. Make a yummy salad with salad dressing on it, creamy or oil salad dressings are generally okay, just look for ones with little or no sugar. You need your fiber so this should help a bit. Also, try not to have too much of the Atkins syrup for a while. Try to keep it simple. I know you have been doing this for a few weeks, but adding the SF snacks and stuff can be harmful to some, not all, it is your mileage may vary kind of thing.
