Hi. I'm new to this board. Actually this is the first low carb board I've ever joined. I've been following Atkins since 4-19-99. At my heaviest, I weighed 269. I got down to 192 by 1-15-00 and then I gradually got laxer and laxer with the Atkins way of life and my weight has crept up to it's present 235.
I'm starting to to search the web for recipes that my boyfriend and I can enjoy. He is a really picky eater and I keep seeing a lot of recipes that use almond flour. Where do I buy that? What kind of stores carry it? Do I have to buy it online?
Thanks in advance for you help!
Rachel

Hi MsRachel, welcome aboard. :)
Congrats on you success, you're still better than when you started, and you now have the experience to succede.
Almond flour should be very simple to find, depending on where you are. Most North American supermarkets should have it. And if not, it can be easily made by grinding almond.

You might try your local health food store as well you can buy almonds in bulk and grind your own, its much cheaper that way! Glad your back on track and best of luck to you both :)

It really cheaper to make your own. Just don't over grind...you have almond butter! :D And buy your almonds in bulk...not little bags...much cheaper!

Almond flour is very simple to make, but the homemade kind will be a little more coarse than if you'd purchased it. I make mine in my food processor. I can't find it here in the local stores, but you can special order it from places online.

I've been wondering the same thing about almond flour, I can't find it at my local grocery store. I think I'm going to try making my own in the food processor too. Thanks!

If you have one near you, Trader Joe's carries it. (Even if you don't have one near you, Trader Joe's carries it. :))

I can only find it at a health food store or Whole foods market. Regular grocers here do not carry it.

I bought at at my local health food store until I discovered Trader Joes (Trader Joes was 1/3 the price of the health food store).
You can order it online at bobsredmill.com
