Well, this is week number three for me and I weighed myslef this morning and I have gained 1 LB, I feel really upset by this as I have done the diet to the book!
What is going on, does this happen to other people, your support would be most appreciated.

Yep, it happens to others. Oftentimes it is just normal weight fluctuations from unprocessed food, water weight retention, etc. I've often gone up 1/2 pound here and there - I used to get upset about it - this past week I went up 1.5 pounds, back up to 190 - can't say I'm not dissapointed, but I am not overly concerned with a one week gain either.

Hi Abbi! You're doing fine, don't be disappointed. This is a process of *months*, not weeks. It'll have its ups and downs, whether you follow the book to the letter or not. There are too many variables that we have little control over. Check out this thread that Teri posted - it illustrates the effect nicely. :)
Relax!

Hi Abbi
Have you taken your measurements? I have found that measuring is the only accurate way for me of telling if I am accomplishing anything.
I have gained 5 lbs. in the last 6 weeks of doing BFL but my measurements are going down at a pretty steady pace.
My body retains water depending on what I eat and if I drink enough water or eat too many carbs.
Hang in there, don't be discouraged, this is a process that takes time. Don't weigh yourself, go by the Pant-o-Meter.

Abbi......
If you take a peek at the first page of my journal, you will see that this is the experience that I had too. What I've come to learn is that all that I can do is to do the LC plan to the best of my ability. Beyond that, the body is going to do what the body is going to do. YMMV always is true about LC.
