Im wondering what are the 'fresh' cheeses, is feta one of them?
I'm on Atkins and think I have candida, because my lose is slow and I've been on LOTS of antibiotics in the past.

I'm not too sure if feta falls into the fresh cheese guidelines because it has been aged in brine. Have you checked out any anti-candida diet websites for the information?

Examples of fresh cheeses are ricotta, cottage cheese, quark and cream cheese.

Hi there,
I'm new to this site but not to Candida. Candida effects different people in different ways. I never had a yeast infectio in my life !! Anything from oral thrush in babies to dry skin or bloating in adults.
At the age of 22 I was diagnosed with arthitis by a specialist. (Too much party-ing  ) I couldn't walk move or anything. Every joint in my body was swollen and painfull!! The docs wanted to put me on steroids and cortizone, but I decided to go to a Homopathic doctor in PA. He took one look at me and said I had Candida. :(
I ate only eggs, any veggie that I could peel or scrape, (ie: carrots where in... but green beans where out) and distilled water. He put me on a perscription anti-yeast drug called "Nystatin" Very powerful stuff. Even meat was a probelm because the poor animals had so many antibiotics in them the meat was saturated. I would have a steak for dinner and the next morning I was aching all over again. Mind you I had a very extreme case. I was very sensitive to molds. The rain would bother me!!! But after about 8 months of eating very carefully I had a full recovery. :D
It wasn't easy. I stayed totally away from cheese. Anything that would feed the yeast (mold kind of stuff) I lost a ton of weight, but the diet was very extreme. My health was at stake and I was in pain. And only 22. Now I'm 42 and just started Lo Carb.
Knowing what I do about yeast and Candida you would think I'd have it under control..... but those little yeast-ie buggers want to eat..that's where I believe my cravings come from.
Well enough from me
Good luck with your journey.
