Hi everyone... I am new to this board and to the sugar busters way of life. Been dieting all my life - tired of the yo-yo'ing! My doctor suggested Sugar busters and I am almost through my first week. I feel so much better, more energy and less mood swings! But the scale isn't changing... should I worry? Am I doing something wrong? Or does it take time to see initial results? :q:

Hello Leah!
I'm so glad you found your way to our little corner of the Sugar Busting world!
If you've been dieting all your life, yo-yoing, your body may take a little while to respond to the new way your feeding it. But if your seeing increases in energy and mood....the benefit of weight loss can't be far behind!
I say stay the course and try measuring your waist, hips and thighs. Sometimes I see results there when I'm not seeing them on the scale.
Feel free to dig up our "daily menu" thread and post what you are eating so we can take a look see. We can give you some support that what you are eating is on plan.
Again, wonderful to have you!

Hello Leah!
Glad you are here.
Ehren is right. It may take awhile for your metabolism to heal from the Yo-Yo Dieting. There is a good explaination of this in the book the Schwartzbein Principle. You can probably get it at the library.
Be patient and just keep eating on plan. :)

Thanks Ehren and Molly for the words of advice... I guess we tend to forget how badly yo-yo'ing can mess up your system.... Will have to go down to the library and check out that book!
How about headaches? Are those pretty normal in the beginning?
Thanks again for all your support!! :D

Many people complain of headaches when they first kick sugar... it will pass.
Now I get a headache if I eat sugar!

Molly -
Thanks again ! I guess the headaches are a type of withdrawl symtom? Like I said earlier, only been doing this about a week. But last Saturday had to take my boyfriend out for bday dinner - and he chose sushi. I managed to stay away from the white rice and decided to have tempura (thought it would be a better choice). But about 20 mins after eating I got the worst headache - now I know why!! Live and learn.... Thanks again!
