Next Sunday our church is having it's annual ice cream/cake/cookie/brownie social, much to my dismay. I don't want to go there and be the only one not eating anything because that will draw huge amounts of attention that I'd rather die than have. But at the same time I dont' want to blow my SB efforts.

My dh told me I should get an ice cream maker and take some sf ice cream and bake something make with splenda to take. Does anyone have any good recipes for sf ice cream? I'm off to check the recipe board and see if there is anything there.

I almost wish I was addicted to something like cocaine!! At least they don't have church socials for THAT! You'll never hear of a annual cocaine snorting social at church! It would be so much easier if I could just go "cold turkey", and believe me, I've tried that...it don't work.

Sigh...

Anyhoo....taking my own "stash" is my plan of action!

Church is HELL on a persons diet! Especially us Baptist churches...cause when we meet, we EAT!

Off to look for recipes...

Ya'll have a good night!

Ehren, you're a riot. Smart to plan ahead. I'm Mormon and we're a bunch of eaters as well. I attended a social where I had to bring homemade ice cream. I bought the sf kind, slightly softened it, pushed it into the container from the ice cream machine and marched off to church. I had one gal rave over it and ask me for the recipe. I told her it was a secret. That wasn't a lie -- it was a secret to me. Ha ha. It was a lot cheaper than putting that much noncaloric sweetner in a recipe, not to mention the price of the cream. Good luck. Diane

Thanks for posting all of those yummy recipes Molly!

I think I've decided to take a sugarless cheesecake...and old Atkins recipe and some sf ice cream that I've found in a book I have.

Giving it the trial run tonight!!

Thanks again!
