I am an 'Old Fart returning to bike racing'. We appear to be
the biggest group of amateurs out there right now, and the
classifications are quite competative.

Always looking for an edge, I have been reading about Creatine
and Glutamine supplements. From what I have read, I'm not so
sure these supplements are good for bike racers. Racers are
looking for the best 'power to weight' ratio. Smaller mass to
help negate the 'Gravity' effect, and lots of power for
sprinting and solo breaks.

Can Creatine and Glutamine help build strength without
excess mass?

Thanks

I've just read your mails with interest - I don't cycle any
longer, but I am an oldie - when you say glutamine, is that
the same as glucosamine? Granny Greyhips "atec77(nospam)"

Actually being the original poster, I don't mean glucosamine,
I mean glutamine. When it comes to performance supplements,
creatine and glutamine appear to hold hands. I am happy to
say, I am not quite old enough to suffer from joint pain,
maybe next year. Just looking for a performance edge without
risking my health.
