I was reading about whole grains on the American Dietetic
Association web site,
(http://www.eatright.org/nfs/nfs0900b.html). There they have a
recipe for Banana/Raisin Wheat muffins there that shows how to
use whole grains in baking, but the recipe also contains 20 mg
of cholesterol. That seems high to me. Is there any
relationship between whole grains and cholesterol? Do whole
grains contain cholesterol?
Thanks, Ed B. buch75@msn.com

The cholesterol in that recipe is from the egg. 20 mg. of
dietary cholesterol is insignificant unless you're a vegan (in
which case you wouldn't be looking at recipes with eggs
anyway). There is no cholesterol in plant foods AFAIK. only in
animal foods.
