Hi everyone,

May I jion you. My name is Marie I live in Ireland and I have 160lbs to lose. I must tell you I am a complete novice(I hasten to add only in terms of a support group) dieting on the other hand is something I have been practising for my entire life with I might add VERY questionable results!!? As a new comer I didn't realize
that you were all here until curiosity allowed me to discover you. Now with your permission I'm home. I have been engaging trial and error to find my way, hence my postings have not been in the correct place. What do I do to correct this mistake.? Can they be moved? I really don't want to write the same old-same old! and yet it is very important to me. The posting was dated Aug. 1
title 'Let me fit'

I am on day 10 of the Atkins program. I am really happy to report that I have parted company with 13lbs. :spin: Weeks 1, 2 and even 3 are not usually a problem for me but about week 3 - I sabotage my efforts this also is where I would like some help, of course I will always be greatful for all help and support at ANY time!

I look forward to chatting with you, thanks for being there. Consider yourself hugged!

Marie.

Greetings Gizmo!

Probably the best form of inspiration for staying on track comes from reading the journals of others. Low-carbing is more of a mindset than anything else, and the mindset guides you with the choices you make.

Start to be willing to believe that this is the beginning of the rest of your new life and make that your point of reference, not the way you used to be before you started low-carbing.

Keep reading the forum and asking questions. You've already started a journal and that's a good thing.

Big changes will happen within you and around you if you let them.

Don't worry about the double posting. Just jump in and become part of the action!

Karen

Hello!

Thank you for your encouragement and welcome.

Perhaps its not that I'm fat, maybe its just that I'm not tall enough!!! I'm only guessing but with my weight I think I would need to be somewhere in the region of 10ft. tall - that settles it I'm a LC!!! and with your help I will remain so for the rest on my new life!

Lets keep on keeping on!

Have a happy day.

I'm just into week 3 and 10 pounds so far. I resolved to stay on Induction at least through the end of September to try to make some headway into this long battle.

If you feel week PM me and I'll try to provide some encouragement. MY DH says I am single minded in anything I undertake and I am DETERMINED to get and keep all this weight off.

I know you are equally determined. Last night I reread the chapter in Atkins book on the Psychology of Weight loss and these were his reminders of the mind traps to avoid:
- Using food as an emotional comfort
- Quitting the program altogether if you have cheated
- Eating less than 3 times a day (not a problem for me!)
- Doing what other people want instead of what's right for you
- Being afraid to ask family and friends for support.

Good luck and we are right there with you
