Good Morning Everyone:

Just wanted to take a moment to intruduce myself. My name is Lee, single mother of two girls 6 and 9. I have been on atkins for a week and at my first weigh in 262/258/150. Four pounds down. I love atkins, but I struggle with wanting it all off now which I know is unrealistic. Life has been years of distorted body image, binge eating (this past week is my first string of days where I didn't binge endlessly for days

I started walking yesterday with the intention of doing it every day, but with all my weight, sedentary lifestyle, and a formerly broken ankle--my ankle is feeling it today. Every other day is going to have to do until some of the weight has come off.

My goal today is to accept that the best laid plan sometimes needs adjustment and life doesn't have to be an all or nothing (with the exception of my food plan).

The best thing about last week (aside from the weight lose) is that I didn't "sneak eat" what a relief to not plan when I can have a binge in private. I am grateful!

Thanks for listening -- your posts have inspired me.

Lee

Welcome

If you find you can't walk as often as you like, consider swimming or weight lifting as alternatives

Just be patient......just think where you will be in 5 years even if you only lost 20 lbs per year ;) , and where you would be today had you started 5 years ago :( , so every day counts

If you have any :q: we're here for you :)

Hi Lee,

Welcome.

I know how you feel about wanting all of the weight off now. I feel the same way.

I've been LCing for 16 weeks, I've lost 20 lbs. When I started I thought after 16 weeks I'd be alot closer to my goal... I wish I was, but I lose slowly and this WOE is so easy. I don't feel deprived, I'm not starving all the time and I know that I am going to eat like this forever - I'll never go back to my old way of eating.

I try to focus on how much better I feel and that I am making progress in the right direction.

This forum is so helpful. Even if I don't post every day, I sign on and read posts. I spend so much time on here because it's so helpful. I hope you find it helpful too. Anything you're experiencing will be something that someone else has gone through, people are very supportive and knowing that other people are going through the same thing really helps.

Shark:

It's funny to think of it as only 20 lbs per year---makes it sound possible to lose the weight.

Another successful lo-carb day!!

Gratefully, Lee
