Hey you guys in the know...
If one wanted to fast, say for religious reasons, etc., how would this affect the CKD? This is mostly rhetorical, but I was curious for future reference. Thanks!

Are we talking fasting like Ramadan, where you can eat after a certain hour, or fasting like nothing but water? And how long?
Cheers,

Fasting, nothing but water, for a day or two, no more. I know you start to lose muscle mass pretty quickly, but does anyone know how much, how fast?

I wouldn't think 48 hrs would be a problem, for muscle-loss, though you could probably expect to be a little weak in the exercise department for a couple of days after.

-Well, if I were you- I'd load up on the carbohydrates before you started the fast (you were probably going to anyways I suppose). That way- you can nourish your body with the carbohydrates for a good amount of time before it (your body) starts eating away at your hard-earned muscle mass. F.Y.I.- I once had to wait an extra hour to eat dinner, man was that rough (+10 bonus pts. for those of you who caught the 'Seinfeld' reference).
