Usually my day consists of eggs for breakfast, I usually sprinkle a little flax seed on for fiber. I drink one glass water and one glass crystal light. I drink water throughout the day. Lunch is either egg salad or a burger with no ketchup or bun and a green salad with romaine lettuce and cucumbers. Dinner is a variation on lunch, maybe a chicken breast or a burger again with a larger salad than I had for lunch. For dressing I have vinegar and Olive oil.I also add flax seed for fiber to my burger. I think my diet is pretty standard of what Atkins recommends. This constipation is crippling though!!

Heavens your menu sounds very boring....LOL
Where's the fish, pork, low carb veggies? You need your low carb veggies to get out of your constipation. I too experienced that for three days....how uncomfortable! I doubled up on my salads and added brocolli and califlower and it has helped. Yep, drinking lots of water too!
Hang in there and try to do more with your menu or you may find yourself getting fed up?
Check out the journal thread here. This may help you on what to decide to eat also?

Yep! The same thing happens to me if I neglect eating LC vegetables. And it does suck!
It takes a while for your body to adjust to LC. Once it does, it should be "smooth sailing". Your body is probably wondering where all the the high carb bulk went to!! Up your vegetable intake for a few days to give it a hand.
I'll add to the list of vegetables: bok choy--or any Chinese green leafy vegetable, asparagus, Rachel suggested spinach in another post on the same subject, parsley, watercress, leaf lettuce and broccoli.

hi Jess,
I did post a lengthy reply to your constipation problem .. in your other "I need help thread" .. Just in case you missed it, click here to read it (http://www.lowcarber.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=26170#post26170) ... Just reading your daily menu again, sounds ok, try adding MORE flax (3 Tbsp is the usual amount) ... make it into a tasty "porridge" by mixing with hot - not boiling - water (too hot will destroy the Omega-3s), add a little sweetener, cinnamon or vanilla, whatever, top with a dot of butter or cream if desired. Do you use plain psyllium husks?? I know in another post, you mentioned psyllie snax, but these do contain a lot of added sugar. Only other thing, you might consider adding MORE oil. Yes, more. How much are you using on your salad - a teaspoonful? Try adding one or two TABLESPOONS. I'm not kidding. Once things get "rolling" you can cut back a bit if you wish, but no need to. Oils have zero carbs, and a lot of anti-hunger power -- ;) -- good stuff!

Thanks Mrs. Y, but it's all smoke and mirrors. And make-up! I looked like that for 1 hour.
I usually look pretty ratty and have had a life long affair with bad hair days. LOL ;)

BTW, Karen, makeup only looks as good as the foundation to which it is applied; it's just an enhancement to the beauty that's already there. Never forget Tammy Faye Baker ..

Karen, I agree with Doreen about the foundation tee hee.
I had a pic done in the eighties by a photography arts student pal of mine that I called "My Mother Before The War". Nobody ever guessed it was actually me he he.
My DH still has another cheesecake shot from 1984 BC (Before Cellulite) that actually looks like I'm not wearing the bikini bottom! He carries it around with him everywhere he goes and brags that his wife is a rock star... must have been the Raybans.
After the Final Fifteen (see my new thread under Bootcamps...) I just might revisit the old photo studio and do a new one. It's *so* much fun...even for just those fifteen minutes!

How we digress! What on earth does all this have to do with constipation?

I'm sure it's all bound up in there somewhere.
