i am doing really well during the day, and then around 8pm, i think i need "my snack". eating a piece of chicken or steak, doesnt appeal to me, at this hour. i feel like i need something sweeter. does anyone have any suggestions on what to have?
i have gone to bed too many nights hungry. its so hard to fall asleep when you need something!! last night i had a couple of gram crackers, and a glass of milk. i guess this was ok? i have considered making some of the low carb desserts on this site.
any suggestions?

Hi  I got a few dessert recipe you may enjoy.
Very quick chocolate mousse
Take two cartons (half pints) heavy whipping cream add 1 pouch of nestle carnation fat free hot cocoa mix and 2 packets of sugar substitute (like splenda) blend on high until whipped and creamy. Enjoy 4g carbs total.
This one is great for those hot summer days. :D
Simple man's cheesecake
One pie plate
whipped cream in a can for the crust
throw it in the freezer till frozen
8 oz whipped cream cheese.
add about 1/4-1/2 sugar free chocolate pudding mix(until you taste the chocolate)
Pour in the heavy cream until the mixture becomes spreadable
Once the crust is frozen, spread the cream cheeses over the crust and throw it in the freezer till it's hardens up. It's also pretty good frozen.

This one did not have the carbs pre serving but did get off the low carb recipe site while surfing on day.
I do have others as soon as a I have a few minutes I will post them in the sweet forum.
ENJOY :D

Now those sound pretty easy, I've been having sugar free jello with cool wip, you can make a great cake with it, harden the jello the fast way with the ice cubes, then mix in 8 oz of coolwip, refrigerate til it mounds, put it in a pie plate, you can use some crumbs from an atkins muffin for crust with a spry of pam. it slices great, and makes a nice presentation if there's company. You can do the same with sugarfree fat free instant pudding, and make a mouse pie.
page I understand those hunger pains at night but you really want to stay away from crackers, you'll forget and eat too many, look around this site there are lots of other recipes, and atkins blueberry muffins aren't bad, you can get the mix in the healthfod store, or in super stop and shop. maybe also in your local grocery store. good luck chris

My evening snack of the week is pepperoni crisps: I bought a pack of sliced pepperoni. I put a dozen or so on a plate and microwave them for minute or so. It's like chips.

But it isn't sweet.

Once I just put same vanilla extract into an ounce of cream cheese with a packet of splenda: it did the sweet thing for me but I am not actually all that big on sweets.

my least complicated sweet snack is 1tb cocoa powder (find an imported european one, nestles etc. does NOT do it), a large dollop of heavy cream, and either splenda or stevia. It's not commercial hot chocolate, but you grow to like the taste better anyway.

Another one, though I would not eat on a daily basis is haystacks.
Use unsweetened coconut, and make little haystacks using cocoa and butter and cream and sweetner. Again, find an import cocoa.

You can make chocolate mousse using sweetner, cream and cocoa.

Sugar snap peas have 6 carb grams a serving, 4 of which are fiber. Sometimes I have a bowl of them slathered in butter for a snack. They are really sweet so it's just like eating a dessert. They are definitely a real bargain at 2 net carb grams a serving.
