Oh Darn I've done it now. I've completely fallen off my diet. I'm trying to get back onto it and it's so hard. My new work doesn't have a fridge or microwave. We work in the market so fresh fruit and veggies all around us. However there's also alot of restaurants. I've been a bad girl now for about 1-2 months. I can't seem to get back on it. I was doing so well too... I haven't gained much weight (about 4 lbs) but it looks and feels like so much more. I'm also walking alot more than I was so my muscle weighs more.

I don't know where else to turn. Don't know how to get myself back on this WOE... I'm so frustrated. I am also very very tired.
I wonder if it's got something to do with it. I also have PCOS and have great news on that side... for the 3rd month in a row now I've gotten my AF!!!!!!!!!! Considering that it was 10 years with just a few times a year this is great to me. Maybe I'll be a mommy one day :) BUT I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT to do that as well... :(

I crave sugar alot. And I still eat carbs... During the week days it's better and easier to do. It's the evenings and weekends that kill me... Anyhow, thanks for listening to me whine. I have to find a way to get back onto this WOE and find my inspiration that I had. I lost it in the move I think... maybe I need to open more boxes and I'll find it again LOL :D

Hi Josee, nice to hear from you! Hope the move went well. Most of us have fallen off the wagon at one point. It always seem daunting to get back. But all it takes is a day or two and you won't beleive how things start going. Good for you that you haven't gained much back, most those boxes you moved! :)

We're here for you!

Hi Josee,

I'm from Ottawa, but left the city 20 years ago!

Moving to another city can definitely throw you out of whack! And, being tired is a real enemy to peacefulness. We can quickly fall back into our old ways when we are sleep challenged.

What about investing in a small cooler to transport your lunch in? I know that there are delis and cheese stores in the market where you can pick up a quick LC lunch for yourself.

Focus on your long term goal, and then set short term ones. I don't mean in terms of weight loss only, but how you want to feel and how you want to break old though patterns. Something you may find useful is looking at what you are doing as a life change, rather than a diet.

A lot of us here have jumped on and off "the wagon" probably many more times than we would care to admit to. The more you get back on the wagon, the better you get at turning low-carbing into a way of life.

You know Josee, your sig line says it all. When you started this WOE, you probably made a firm commitment to change. You can do it again. Just look at this as a small hiccup in the space/time continuum. ;)

Hey, don't beat your self up. We all have triggers that challenge us. After all, that is why I am fat to begin with. This is all about learning I think. Not only am I learning about food, I am also learning what triggers my bad habits.
I bet you are a little stressed about your new job eh? If I get stressed, which I often do because I have 2 teenagers LOL, I eat......

Well as usual you guys always know how to make me feel good. Everyone around me eats alot of carbs (especially DH) and that's what's making it hard for me sometimes. I feel that I could keep up the LC even in the evening if only I didn't have to smell and see it right in front of me. But I also feel that it's not fair to ask DH to change because I made a decision to do so.

The worst part of all of this is that he's diabetic LOL. But my train of thought on this is that before I made the decision to change and was ready to, no one could have convinced me to do so. So I'm doing what I have to do and when he's ready to make changes in his diet he'll do what's right.

Apart from that, we not only moved to Ottawa but what I should have said is move BACK to Ottawa. Both our families & friends are all here. THAT is hard on a diet. Especially when you want to feed people for dinner or go to their place for dinner. Asking them to change their menu for you can be tricky (especially where Mummy-in-law is concerned  ) Oh well... what can you do...

ANYHOOOOO here I go again

HAPPY MOMMY'S DAY EVERYONE and I hope you all get to spend time with someone special today. I'll be seeing my best friend later (i.e.: My Mom )

Glad to hear the move went well .... it's sooo-o-o-ooo stressful.

Are you in THE Market market?? Kewl. .. ... but I know exactly what you mean about surrounded by carbs. Well, you can do this, you've done it before.

I hear ya, about the carby in-laws .... sometimes, you just gotta remind yourself though, are you lowcarbing for your health, and to correct a medical condition so that some day soon you can be a mommy, or is it more important to tiptoe around someone else's ego, and not make waves?? (Been there, done that, it ain't worth it .. )

Take care, and keep us posted!

Sweetie,

Just jump right back in to your low carbing. When it comes to eating at work, I like Karen's idea (and her pic too!), try the cooler carrying.

When all is eating high carbs, just think what they are doing to their bodies. With hubby, while he is eating his high carb junk food in evening etc.. go get your low carb foods and munch away with him. Think how healthy you are feeling and losing weight too:)

With dinner out or having folks in, you don't have to change much in my opinon. Do the pototaes for the company if you want, and do califlower mashed for you. Hey, bet they will want to try your version of mashed potatoes!

When going out to eat, whether it be family or places, just omit the high carbs. If family gathering, take salad with you.

You can do it, just remember what got you started in the first place and don't allow others or high carb foods get in your way!

Isn't it wonderful how you feel when eating LC....never hungry, full of energy, losing weight......Oh how I love this feeling :)
