I am psyched to start my ckd this weekend but am looking for some guidance. I have the parameters and all of that, what I want to know is what does this look like in food terms?! High glycemic liquid carbs.....? High? Low? Give me some examples - I'm picturing a weekend of pizzas and milkshakes!

I will probably do my last workout on Friday morning. So that means I should start my carb up Friday morning and end....Sunday night?

Help! :daze:

-Here is a link that will tell you everything you'll need to know about 'carbing-up':

-However, pizza and milkshakes are not ideal 'carb-up' foods. You will be able to eat some of the things you've been craving (during the low-carb week)- not anything like pizza and milkshake(s) though.

Yep. Too much fat in the pizza and milkshakes.

You gotta switch gears and think low fat high carb.

I found that sports drinks can give you most of your carbs. Just drink them instead of water.

Thanks, I've read the article. It answered many questions and sets understandable guidelines - still a little vague on those glycemic highs and lows, however. I've lc'd for over a year, used to staying low carb, no sugar. I'll keep in mind the advice about low fat.

I've also made protein shakes before - is that a do-able substitute for sports drinks? (not really interested in investing in those)
