Hi All
You may think I am being silly/paranoid but I'm not sure if I have got Candida... I have suffered with Athletes Foot for over 2 years (it just won't clear up), I've had thrush (but not for some time), I get terrible PMS (which seems to be getting worse), bouts of depression (my GP put me on Prozac some time ago) and I am always tired.
I visited my local pharmacist on Sunday and told her that I thought I could have Candida. She said that I haven't as I haven't got thrush.
What do you reckon? If I have it, is there any way I can treat it with natural remedies or should I visit my GP?
Thank you
Hils

hi,
When I was having major health probs someone suggested looking into Candida. So I did and lone behold a lot of the symptoms applied to me. I didn't have thrush either but many of the other symptoms. I talked to my doc about it and he basically laughed it off. A lot of docs don't believe in it. So, I went and bought some Capryllic Acid, Grapefruit seed extract, oil of oregano and garlic and rotated the supplements every few days. I also followed a strict no sugar, no wheat, no fruit diet. I went through die off which was kind of bad but that's how you know it's working. You get flu like symptoms that should pass within a week or so. I even went to a naturopath who tested me for it and on a scale of 1-10 i was a three. 2 months later it was gone according to his test. If you think you have it I would look into it in a search engine and then talk to someone at a natural health food store or a naturopath. Good luck and if you have any questions just ask

Thanks Danyele
I visited my local health food store yesterday and bought acidophilus and garlic tablets and have started taking those today. Hopefully that might help to make a difference.
What is grapefruit seed extract and what does it do?

hi,
Oh yes, i forgot to tell you about acidopholus. It is very important for replenishing beneficial bacteria when taking anti-Candida supplements.
Grapefruit seed extract is an anti-fungal also used for treating Candida. My Naturopath gave me a very strong form of it called Citricidal. It worked very well.
i hope the supplements work but you really should try rotating the garlic with something else every 4 days otherwise your body gets used to it.
