I came across an old notebook where I had jotted down notes from a book I had borrowed from the library years ago. I will go back to the library and look for it and let you know what the title is if anyone is interested, but in the meantime, here are my notes as I thought they would be interesting to share. I didn't know where else to post so hope this is OK.
The whole thing is divided into:
1. Changing your thoughts
2. Changing your beliefs
3. Changing your language
4. Changing your physiology
I will post each section when I have more time.
1. Changing your thoughts:
The strongest, most powerful force in the mind is its need to act in ways which match our thinking, and the strongest force in the human personality is the need to remain consistent with how we define ourselves.
The mind is able to believe and accept without question; to accept as an absolute fact all our thoughts and dialogue.
The body must match what is going on in the mind, not the other way around.
Thoughts control feelings
Feelings control actions
Actions control events
Focus on how you want to be,
Never on how you don't want to be
Focus only on what you want to move towards and accomplish.
Never on the opposite, which is what you want to leave behind.
