My fibromyalgia has been in remission for about 2 years. I started changing the way I eat about 2 weeks ago because of high blood sugar and high cholesterol. A couple of days ago, I noticed a I was getting sore and stiff. When I woke up this morning, I felt like a freight train had hit me. I'm seized right up and I have been in a lot of pain all day. It's back!!!!! I could cry!. I wonder if some of the new foods I eating are causing this flare up. Like eggs, or peanuts? I have always suspected that nicotine helped the pain of fibromyalgia, could the flareup be caused by the fact that I quit smoking 2 months ago.

Joyce,
I hope you are feeling a bit better. I don't know about fibromyalgia, but I do know that LC'ing has affected mine (and many others) TOM (Time of the Month). Some people have starting getting a TOM that haven't in quite some time, others have heavier cycles, some spot. The general theory behind this is that it is our bodies getting back to normal, and most symptoms stop after a few months. For me, the irregularity didn't start until a few months later, then I spotted and had some heavy times. This month so far, I had a little spotting a few days ago, even though TOM is not expected to arrive until Tuesday (I am on the pill)
Hopefully someone else will come along with more information

There is actually a new book out with a cure for fibromyalgia. It's called "What your doctor may not tell you about fibromyalgia by R. Paul St. Amand,, MD and Caludia Craig Marek.
In addition to a simple treatment to cure the condition they give a long list of foods, herbs, supplements and every day products that can cause and aggrevate the condition.
Striking was the information to avoid salicylates and bioflavonoids.
Also rose hips, lavender, rosemary, ginseng, chamomile, aloe vera, arnica, jojoba, yucca, and aspirin were just a few.
Do get the book. It seems as though our environment is making us sick.

The admonition to avoid salicylates and other compounds is ONLY IF you are following the guafenesin protocol. Salicylates block the action of guai on cellular phosphates. Those recommendations are not applicable to fibromyalgia itself, only to the drug treatment.
Just wanted to clarify ;)
