The brand I use is one carb gram per two tablespoons, unwhipped. It about doubles in volume when whipped. If you want it sweet, use Splenda or another artificial sweetener, not sugar. I use whipping cream in moderation (1-2 tablespoons per day, usually in my coffee). Many people find if they use too much cream, it stalls their weight loss. Though now that it's strawberry season....strawbs and cream, yum!

goooood, my cream is 0g, so i'm excited *L* i usually make 1/2 a cup at a time with splenda *i LOVE splenda* and add a little bit of cinnamon for flavour *i usually eat whipped cream alone since all my treats have become taboo* so usually i eat half and leave the rest...today i ate the WHOLE thing
*i've had a bad day but i don't know why : ( i'm down...sigh* and i'm REALLY SUPER TIRED!!!!! UGH!!!!! i've taken a 3 hour nap and i have so much to do...i wish i wouldn't nap. it messes up my whole schedule. oh well, my body demanded it.
ANYWAY, are strawberries okay to eat?? i'm still not really sure what an acceptable carb content in a fruit can be. i've seen people eat pinapple and all sorts of things, but i thought citrus and sugary fruits were a no-no...HELP!!!! thanks much : )

Hey, Wuss! It depends what plan you're on. I think most of us are on Atkins, with a sizeable minority on Protein Power and a few others on other low-carb plans. Some plans, like the Zone and Sugar Busters, allow more fruit than Atkins does. That's probably why you're confused, when people who are on more 'liberal' plans talk about eating pineapple, grapes, and other sweet fruits.
I'm on Atkins, which is lower in carbs than most of the other plans (generally speaking). However, strawberries and some other berries are OK on Atkins because they're surprisingly low carb! A whole cup of strawberries is only about 7 carbs, as compared to say, a medium apple, which is closer to 20 carbs. So for someone on Atkins, 1/2 to 1 cup of strawberries per day is OK, but not most other fruits.
Atkins has a mini carb-counter at the back of his book; this will help you find out what's OK and what's not. Don't worry, it does take some time to figure out!

Oh, by the way, ALL whipping cream is about 6 carbs per cup (unwhipped). Some labels say zero carbs because they are allowed to round down if carbs are under 1 gram per serving. So if a serving of cream is defined as 2 tablespoons, and the actual carb count of 2 tablespoons is .9 carbs, the manufacturer is allowed to put 'zero carbs' on the label.
Hope this doesn't ruin your day. Whipping cream in moderation is still OK! Just count the carbs!
