CKD = Cyclical Ketogenic Diet
Three days isn't that long, it took me six days! what are your fat and protein ratios? You may need to bump up fat, plus how are you determining if you're in ketosis or not???

thx for your reply big daddy. Im using ketostix (urine testing)
to determine my status. My fats are high im concern about high ratios. Its just that i do work out and still cannot hit that purple color.

You don't need to hit purple. Sometimes you are in ketosis and nothing even registers. It depends on when you started LCing, the quantity of ketones you are producing, how they are being expelled from your body, how much water you are drinking, if you are exercising, how old the sticks are, if the sticks have been contaminated, if you are following the plan to the T for the initial stages, etc.
Do you have a funny taste in your mouth? Has your appetite gone away? Those are indications of ketosis as well.

Check out the thread at the top of this forum entitled CKD 101. There is a lot of good info in there.

-To get into ketosis quickly- my ratio's are 80% fat, (for the most part-saturated fats) 20% protein, and carbohydrates are (of course) non-existent to trace amounts. Also- cardio will hasten your decent into ketosis. Then again, (as stated earlier in this thread) you might already be in ketosis and there are some variables which are preventing you from registering it (via 'keto-stix').

Try the suggestions that the others have mentioned.
If that still doesn't do it, try 500 - 750mg ALA before your first 3 meals of the day. A friend of mine is doing that now and he is registering purple for the first time.
Personally, I don't use the stix. I can tell by the taste in my mouth, the smell of my sweat, etc. Fun stuff ... LOL ...

Also check how much water you are consuming. Yesterday I had my largest reading which was moderate-large (almost the darkest purple).
So as a test I think drank about 2 litres of water. My next test only showed trace amounts. At least for me, water consumtion plays a huge role in the readings I get!

It gets easier with practice. Patience is a virtue.
