Hi.

This is the first time I've ever even tried to diet in my life. I don't own a scale and I don't use one. I've been trying to do the high protein low carb diet for about 2 weeks now and have seen great results, keeping my work outs the same as usual, about 40 min of weight training and 20 min of cardio. I have to say, I am really impressed with the results. I don't know what I weight or how much I've lost, but my pants are getting looser.

I give my self 1 cheat day a week where I have chow some of that new pizza hut twisted crust pizza or something similar. It usually ends up around 2 cheat days however. I think what has helped me the most is just saying no to small little snacks like cookies or candy. I eat lots of chicken and pinto beans in a no-fat taco shell and drink tons of water.

I started the high protein diet to see if I could get down to mid single digit body fat. It seems to be working. The best feeling is looking in the mirror and seeing results.

I have heard people say that it's not good to do this kind of diet for very long though. Will have to stick around here research what is though about that.

Ok....back to work.

Congrats on your success so far. And many people have been on this woe without cheating for years :) And we are very healthy and fit. Best of luck on your BF goal! Im assuming your male since you want a single digit? My last test was at 20.2 and 18% is my current goal

There's lots of research on this site, none of which shows that low-carb for extended periods of time damages the health. Wa'il (our Webmaster) is actually looking for substantiated reports (as opposed to rumour) on negative health effects and hasn't found any yet.

What I know is, if I return to my former high-carb way of eating, I WILL get sick - diabetes and heart disease run in my family - so I certainly don't feel like I have anything to lose!
