I don't have time to check, but I recall prune juice may
contain significant amounts of iron, which may cuase problems
in older males...

Is it courteous to answer what appears to be a valid concern
about nutrition with all these weak jokes? I don't believe
there are "side effects" from eating most good foods. My
husband and I have about 4 ounces of prune juice a day. It
does seem to help prevent constipation. No side effects we
have noticed. Certainly even 8 ounces a day would not be
expected to be have any adverse effects. Excessive amounts
might cause diorrhea, I suspect.

I was just reading that there is some sort of motility
enhancer in prune juice. A chemical enhancer, not just fiber.
Not that I'd be the least bit concerned, but it does raise the
question of becoming accomodated to that stimulus, if not
somewhat dependent on it. Pure speculation.

Delusional again, you toothless example of failed
contraception? No one but you on this usegroup uses multiple
screen names to satisfy their multiple personalities. It is
time for you to seek out a competent mental health
practitioner and start taking your medications again.

Probably sorbitol, which is a laxative, I think there is some
adaptation to laxatives, even though I think laxatives work by
physical (not controlled) means, literally through osmosis..

prunes have the highest source of sorbitol, tho:

FD_NM_E NT_NM_E NT_VALUE PRUNES, DRIED, UNCOOKED SORBITOL 12
PEARS, RAW, W/ SKIN SORBITOL 2.3 CHERRIES, SWEET, RAW SORBITOL
2.1 APPLE JUICE, CANNED OR BOTTLED, ADDED VITAMIN C SORBITOL 1
APPLE JUICE, CANNED/BOTTLED, WO/ ADDED VITAMIN C SORBITOL 1
CHERRIES, SOUR, RED, RAW SORBITOL 1 APRICOTS, RAW SORBITOL 0.8
NECTARINES, RAW SORBITOL 0.6 PLUMS, RAW SORBITOL 0.6 APPLES,
