I am a 34 yr old guy wioth high blood pressure. I am on 200mg
of Toprol (a beta blocker) and 325mg Avalide per day for this
condition.

I have since switched to a mostly vegetarian diet, with the
exception of some eggs (cholesterol is not a problem) and
fish. I try to get enough fish oil in my diet. I also take a
plethora of vitamins.

As a part of my supplementation I also started taking 100mg of
DMAE twice a day. Man, the first day I took this I felt very
alert (mentally sharp), not tired, and I had a dream that
seemed so real when I woke up I couldn't believe I was
sleeping/dreaming.

Anyway, I go on the net tonight reading up on DMAE and some
people say it raises HBP and some say not.

What's the deal? I like the effects so far but I don't want to
sabotage what the HBP medicine is supposed to be doing or give
myself a heart attack/stroke.

Any M.D.'s out there?

Thanks,

Tom

Did you ever think about taking your own blood pressure like
you are suppose to be doing anyway? Or does your mother do
it for you?

First of all, I haven't been able to get to the store to get a
blood pressure monitor, so I figured I'd ask up here. This
morning I got an Omron wrist model at Kmart but it only gives
one reading for every 10 attempts. I might bring it back,
since using it is so frustrating that it probably raises my BP
by pissing me off.

Was that really called for? Grow up, or at the very least
learn some manners and lose that massive chip off your
shoulder, Jimmy Boy.
