Hello!
I started 2 months ago with 87 pounds to lose - and here I am - almost 30 pounds lighter, and I need a buddy.

I have no one who understands this WOL at home - It is an inconvenience to most. They see and appreciate the results - but eat my food along with theirs.

I just had a baby a little over a year ago - and had a TON of problems, was on almost complete bedrest and couldn't walk, so I went from a size 6 back to a 22 after I had lost it all 2 years prior.

So I am at the point where I am just regaining my health - and being able to walk and exercise so I can get rid of all this again.

Hi Corrie,

Wow I can't believe you lost 30 lbs in two months! That's excellent. I have been LCing for two months and I've only lost 13 lbs., AND I have more to lose than you do. Congratulations.

Are you still on induction? I am. I don't mind this WOE but of course I would like to lose faster.

I am lots happier this morning - am down to 190!!!
How are you doing? Are you still on induction as well? We need to figure out a way to get you program jumpstarted...could there be hidden carbs somewhere that are slowing you down???
Are you writing down everything you eat and drink?
This morning I had a glass of lemonade (water with lemon juice and 1 splenda packet - about 2 carbs) and 1 cup of decaf with cream- 1 carb. What about you???

Hi Corrie,
You are doing really great, you must be so proud of yourself.

I don't think there are any "hidden" carbs in my diet.
For breakfast I usually have 1 egg and an Atkins shake, or 2 eggs and a 1/2 cup coffee w/cream. Lunch is usually chicken or tuna salad. Dinner is either fish, chicken or steak with a salad and sometime a cup of green beans. Occasionally, if I work late I have an Atkins bar. I'm not that hungry and I drink tons of water. But the pounds are coming off slooooowly.

As of this morning I am down 15 1bs., so I was happy this morning! I am considering only weighing in every few weeks. Right now I am doing 1x a week and if I don't have a loss, I am really annoyed!

I will just stick with it and eventually it will come off.

Keep up the great work you are doing.

HI SUMMER!
Your meal plans look good!! Keep it up. Just keep experimenting with your carb levels until you find what works for you.

Congratulations on your 15 pounds!

I am down to 186 this morning!! We are doing great!!

For breakfast this morning I am having an Atkins bar - it's the easiest thing to eat while you are at work.

I know how you feel...I really long to get past this part and be on maintenance. I can rarely leave induction or my weight loss slows to a crawl and that drives me crazy!!! I also cannot have any coffee or diet sodas - they do the same thing - slow me way down and make me retain water.

So like I said - just keep it up and you will find what works for you!!!

Wed, Jun-05-02, 17:48
You are doing unbelievable. Are you exercising? I have been walking 30 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week. Unfortuately, when I am busy with other things, (like work), walking is usually the thing I don't get to. But I really try to do it because I know it will make the weight loss faster.

I am not planning to weigh in until the end of June. I want to get away from the scale, because it's so depressing when I don't have a loss. I figure if I wait a few weeks then I'll be sure to have some loss!

Keep up the great work.

i think you are both doing great i think any weight lose is a gain. i have lost 25 pounds in 6 weeks and i feel great hope by christmas to me at least 75 punds lighter than when i started.

Corrie
Thu, Jun-06-02, 07:59
Thank you both!!

Summer - Yes, I exercise. I take the baby for walks in her stroller a few times a week - plus I teach belly dance classes and we have a swimmimg pool - (one big enough to actually swim in...)

When I see my weight loss slowing - I crash right back to induction.

I was so hungry last night - I ate an extra piece of burger.

It is way to quiet at work this morning - think I'll go get another cup of decaf....

summer10
Fri, Jun-07-02, 06:49
I'm off work today. This is the first weekend I will not be weighing in since I started LCing. I hope I can stay away from the scale. I want to wait so I'll see a big loss - I know it's the same amount whether I see it every week or every few weeks, but it's so depressing when there is no loss.

I plan on walking for 45 minutes today since I have time.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Seeing how much you guys are losing makes me feel like there's hope that I'll catch up!

I usually get on the scale every day if I am doing well - I get on once a week if I'm having a hard time.

I wonder if you are getting enough protein....
I try to have between 120-150 grams per day.

What do you do for snacks? Try supplementing with a protein shake - or an extra scoop of tuna or something.

Are you eating any nuts, fruit or anything like that???

If so try cutting that out for now - and eat more protein.

My son graduates from high school today - so I am off for 1/2 the day - I should have worn waterproof mascara......

summer10
Fri, Jun-07-02, 10:16
I think I am getting enough protein. I don't track my food, but I have been thinking about doing that on Fitday. I have been so busy lately I haven't had time to do it. I'm hoping in the next few weeks things will slow down.

I don't usually snack during the day. When I am working, I have breakfast before I leave the house. I have lunch at work and I don't eat again until I get home. I am eating some nuts. I find that if I have a few macadamia nuts when I get home I seem to lose better. I started doing that because I didn't think I was getting enough fats. I usually only have an ounce and then I start making dinner. I don't eat any fruits. All of the other things I eat are acceptable induction foods. I cut out diet Coke which was a big deal for me. I do usually have 1/2 cup of caffeinated coffee every morning.

I did walk for 45 minutes today, so I am happy about that.

Congrats on your son's graduation! You must be proud. How many children do you have? You mentioned a baby in an earlier post.

Fri, Jun-07-02, 10:23
If the only nuts you are eating are the macadamia - thats good!.
When thing calm down try writing down what you eat every day. It can be very revealing!

I have 4 kids, 3 boys and 1 girl(and yes I live in Utah but no I am not a mormon).

My boys are 18, 17 & almost 12. We were done. I was fine. I knew I'd never get my little girls cause I couldn't have any more kids anyway......and then a little miracle happened.

So - in my book - she was worth every problem - she was worth every pound. Her older brothers just spoil her rotten - it is really fun to have a little girls runnning around the house after dealing with little boys for so long!!!

Corrie
Fri, Jun-07-02, 10:25
I had an idea...
Do you ever get a break at work?

If I don't eat a little 5 times a day instead of 3 larger meals I don't lose.

Can you take an egg to work - or a protein drink, so your body always knows there is more fuel coming and will continue to burn???

Corrie
Fri, Jun-07-02, 10:27
Sorry - I am at work and I keep getting distracted - Imagine them expecting me to actually work while I am here.

I had to cut out all diet soda as well. I don't know if it was the caffeing, the nutra sweet (equal) of the carbonation - but I don't lose an ounce if I drink one either!!!

I also noticed that I have fewer headaches since I cut them out too!

sydneyalex
Fri, Jun-07-02, 11:00
Wow your doing great. I hope I can do that well...I am currently starting at the weight you are now...and want to get down to 130 if possible...I would love to be a buddy if you intrested.

I am curious as to what exactly your menus are.

And it is possible to get down to 130 - I know because I have done it before!!! Now we can do it together.

sydneyalex
Fri, Jun-07-02, 11:11
Thats what I need encouragement.....lots of it...I got on my treadmill yesterday and stayed a whole 10 minutes.....can you believe that.

If you mind me asking how old are you? I am 44 and I swear it dont come off like it used to.

So what are you having for dinner tonite.

Corrie
Fri, Jun-07-02, 11:42
I have exactly 25 days left of being 39....and I know what you mean.
When I started this time - it took me a little longer to get the first 20 off, but now that it is gone I seem to be going faster - and last time I lost 20 real quick (infact 40 in 2 months, this time 29 in 2 months) but then slowed way down to a 5 pound per month loss. So all and all - I'm a lot happier this round - or at least that is what I keep trying to tell myself. I am almost 1/2 way there!!!
Congratulations on your 10 minutes. I can relate there as well - 1 year ago I couldn't even walk to the bathroom and back with out pain - now I can gor for an hour! It will Happen!!!
I like a lot of encouragement as well - I don't get any at home.

I have no dinner plans yet. But it absolutely must be something nummy!!!
and you?

Well - I am off for the day - I have got to get the boy to the graduation exercises on time!!!

sydneyalex
Fri, Jun-07-02, 11:48
I'll be glad if I figure out how to use this site.....sure sounds like we have alot in common.

I dont know what I am having for dinner either, was hoping you could tell me/.//LOL I am writing this from work too...have much more time here than at home...I have a 21 year old daughter and a 6 year old daughter...talk about a age difference...the 21 year old does not live with me and she also has a 2 year old which makes me a grandmother....(that is so hard for me to say) I dont feel like a grandmother...I am single and really need to drop all this weight and find someone to hang out with.

Hope you have a good weekend...Look forward to talking with you on Monday!

Corrie,

Thanks for the feedback on the nuts and for the suggestion about snacking. I will try to bring something small to work to snack on. I could eat something quick at my desk. EVERYONE in work knows that I am on Atkins, and I have to say they are really supportive. They've all been saying that I look like I've lost weight. (I don't really think you can tell 15 lbs. on me!)

With 4 kids you must have your hands full. I don't have any kids.

I've noticed that I feel alot better since doing Atkins too. I don't think it's the lack of diet Coke, I think it's the lack of CARBS!

Welcome Syndeyalex

Congratulations on starting LCing. Is this your first time?

You'll be suprised how quickly you'll be able to increase your exercise time. I've been increasing my exercise a little every week and today walked 45 minutes. You just have to do a little everyday.

Corrie is doing excellent. And you only have 1/2 as much as I do to lose. I'll end up being in this thread alone!

Good luck over the weekend.

Hi Summer,

Thanks for the invite....I have to tell you...I pretty much did really bad over the weekend...dont know what happened to my willpower....but I ate things that I should not have..boy do I feel guilty...I am in a bad relationship...the guy I am seeing just totally depresses me and I think thats why I ate the things I should not have.

Happy to say that this morning I am back to low carbing...cross your fingers.

summer10
Mon, Jun-10-02, 09:47
I am sorry to hear you had a bad weekend, but you are back on track today and that's all that matters. Don't feel guilty - that doesn't help and it makes you feel bad. :)

Are you keeping low-carb foods available so that if you feel like eating you have the "right" choices? I know it's harder to do that if you live with other people who aren't LCing. If I feel like I really have to have something, I usually have a lowcarb bar. Can't have to many of those, but sometimes I only eat half and that's enough.

Stay positive, just focus on getting thru each day and post if you want to talk some more.

Hi Summer,

Thank you, have you had periods like that....I do try to keep lo carb things around but like you say I am around other people eating goodies sometimes. I need those encouraging words...how long have you been doing this? Looks like your doing well....

Hey where are you from?

summer10
Mon, Jun-10-02, 10:12
I've been LCing for 2 1/2 months. I haven't eaten anything I "shouldn't" yet. But I cleaned out all of the unacceptable foods from my house.

I've "only" lost 15 lbs. (I haven't weighed in since last week.) I thought I would be further along by now. But I am waiting it out -I know that is the ONLY way I'll ever see results. How long have you been LCing?

I'm from Boston, where are you from?

Hi Corrie,

I was bad...real bad...but back on today. I think this board will help me because I am really ashamed to admit that I cheated so so bad. :(

I kept thinking all weekend your words to me...about this really working and I cheated anyway...Gotta strengthen my willpower..I have been under alot of stress, I think thats why I got carried away...food is comforting.

Corrie
Mon, Jun-10-02, 10:34
I spent the weekend cleaning the pool = then the house - then laundry etc. All I did was eat it seems like - but I just ate protein. I think I was feeling kinds low energy from losing 7 pounds last week. I WANNA LOSE 7 POUNDS THIS WEEK TOO!!! WAAHHHH!!!
Oh well - this is the pattern for me.

Corrie
Mon, Jun-10-02, 10:37
What did you eat??
Next weekend - cook yourself up a whole platter full of your favorite meat. Hard boil some eggs - slice some cheese etc. And the next time you feel the need for some comfort food - grab a slice of meat - warm it up in the microwave - add a slice of cheese and a glass of water & I promise you'll get thru it!!!

I do it all the tiime!!!

Corrie
Mon, Jun-10-02, 10:39
PLUS THINK OF IT THIS WAY - YOU HAVE CONTROL OVERF WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR BODY - YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER HOW YOU LOOK.

The best revenge is knowing you're getting slimmer and the people around you aren't or can't change.

My favorite saying is:

I may be fat - but you are ugly - and I can diet....

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-10-02, 11:18
Corrie,

You really dont want to ask me that...I even ate some candy...like I said I was bad...I like what you say about control;
that makes alot of sense...I should have control over something I suppose. I will try that with the meat....and boiled eggs....I love egg salad...could make some of that.

Have you tried any of the lo carb bread? Was curious if you were using that...I love bread and its hard to give up. You reallly are an Inspiration to me...thank you so much....I really didnt want to come on here today and admit my defeat for the weekend but I am not lying about it either, thats just cheating myself....

sydneyalex

Hey - that's what we are for!!!

Just remember - don't be upset if you don't lose anything this week - it will take you 3 - 5 days to burn those carbs off - so don't get discouraged and drink lots of water....

WATER FLUSHES OUT YOUR SYSTEM.
It helps flush away the fat. You need it to help metaboloze the protein!
I drink 62-100 ounces per day. You won't lose without it.
you need it to counteract the natural diuretic effects of this program. You MUST take your vitmins and drink your water....
It is absolutely necessary.

I used to hate water - now I have a glass with me at all times.....
ALL TIMES...

For lunch I had a low carb bar and water.

For dinner I had a chicken breast and water.
(I did not have the time or motivation for salads yesterday).

Snacks - a couple spicy pork rinds and a hard boiled egg.

Today - i have had no breakfast yet - will probably have an egg.
have had 2 glasses of water so fat and 1 cup of decaf with creamer.

what about you??

That is something to think about isnt it...

Ok..Breakfast - Carb Solutions Drink (I love these)

Lunch - Spicy Chicken Wings w/blue cheese dressing

Snack - Beef Jerky

Dinner - Tomato/Cucumber salad & Tuna

Also had some plain pork rinds during the day...didnt drink much water but I am doing better today with that.

Why can't I consume alcohol when I am doing Atkins?
You should not drink alcohol during Induction, but you can drink moderate amounts of alcohol during the Ongoing Weight Loss, Pre-Maintenance and Lifetime Maintenance phases of the Atkins Nutritional ApproachTM. When given the choice, your body will burn alcohol for energy before it burns fat. But alcohol does not act as a carbohydrate so it will not interfere with burning fat in the same way that sugars and other carbohydrates do.
Alcohol consumption may also increase yeast-related symptoms, such as bloating, gas and cravings for sweets, and can therefore interfere with weight loss. Beer, which contains yeast, probably has the most yeast-forming components of any alcohol. An occasional glass of wine or vodka is the best choice. Scotch and other grain-based spirits are more likely to promote yeast problems.

Note: Use only mixers that contain no sugar or fruit juices. Even tonic water contains carbs and regular soda is made with sugar. Seltzer, club soda, mineral water and non-aspartame diet sodas are better alternatives.

How many carbs does alcohol contain?
It varies by type of alcoholic drink. In the case of beer, read the label. For wine and spirits, refer to a carbohydrate gram counter. Wine usually contains about 2 grams of carbs per 3-ounce serving.

Can I drink alcohol now that I am in OWL?
The body burns alcohol for fuel when alcohol is available. So when it is burning alcohol, your body will not burn fat. This does not stop weight loss; it simply postpones it. Since the alcohol does not get stored as glycogen, you immediately get back into lipolysis after the alcohol is used up. But keep in mind that alcohol consumption may increase yeast-related symptoms in some people and interfere with weight loss. If it does not slow your weight loss, an occasional glass of wine is acceptable once you are out of Induction so long as you count the carbohydrates in your daily tally. (A 3 1/2-ounce glass of wine contains about 4.3 grams of carbohydrate.) Spirits such as Scotch, rye, vodka and gin are acceptable, but do not mix with juice, tonic water or non-diet soda, all of which contain sugar. Seltzer, diet tonic and non-aspartame diet soda mixers are permitted. If you have added alcohol to your regimen and suddenly stop losing weight, discontinue your alcohol intake.

Is it okay to drink light beer, which is lower in grams of carbohydrates?
If you have yeast-related problems, such as bloating, gas, a coated tongue or cravings for sugar, you should limit beer or eliminate it from your diet. Otherwise, after Induction, you can drink light beer as long as it does not make you gain weight or stall your weight-loss efforts.

Why is caffeine unacceptable in the Atkins Nutritional Approach?
Excess caffeine can drop blood sugar levels and leave you craving sweets. If you're addicted to caffeine, you must give it up. The best way to do this is to segue from the high-octane stuff to decaf by gradually adding decaf to your full-force brew until you are drinking straight decaf, which you can enjoy with cream. Water-processed decaf is preferable because it does not use chemicals, as other decaffeinating processes do.

FAQ 1-11 of 11
How much water should a person doing Atkins be drinking?
On any eating regimen, a minimum of 64 ounces, or eight 8-ounce glasses, of water per day is the usual recommendation. Many people, particularly women, suffer from inadequate hydration, so it is important to be diligent about drinking water throughout the day. Water consumption will also help flush toxins from your body and combat such problems as constipation and bad breath. Note that coffee, tea and diet sodas do not apply to the daily minimum.

Tue, Jun-11-02, 11:12
Too much work - too complicated.

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-11-02, 11:21
Yeah, your probably right...but she just raved about it..

This one is alot more simple.

Corrie
Tue, Jun-11-02, 11:28
This works so well and is so easy for me - I see no reason to entertain a change.

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-11-02, 11:30
You really think its easy?

Not me I miss my sweets and bread...I love bread...I could live on that alone...Not to mention Potatoes, & Pasta.......

But you are what you eat so I'm staying away from that stuff....at least I am trying damn hard to do so....

Your a good influence...I thank god for YOU!

Corrie
Tue, Jun-11-02, 11:42
Now it's my lunch and I am having a burger pattie and salad with cheese and dressing. NUM

I don't miss bread and sweets hardly at all - once I get used to not eating them I can even fix them for the rest of the family with no problem.

I'm not really a sweets eater anyway - like I said - I love a cocktail - that's my biggest temptation.
So you just take it 1 day at a time and plug away!

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-11-02, 11:50
Thats what I am doing....one day at a time...but I cant wait to see some results....

One thing about this water...I must have been to the bathroom 25 times...its like i have to go every 10 mins....that drives me crazy/the people around here must think I am nuts.

Corrie
Tue, Jun-11-02, 11:54
What it means is that your body is getting rid of all the excess water it retained in order to deal with the excess carbs and high insulin levels....It will taper off. But like I said you have to keep replacing it so you don't start to retain too much, you will keep flushing out what you don't need - it really helps during that TOM.

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-11-02, 12:23
Ok...well I hope it tapers off...I cant keep doing this..thank god the bathroom is just down the hall a bit...If it were far away i would be in trouble.... ;)

Corrie
Tue, Jun-11-02, 12:53
It will, I promise.

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-11-02, 12:55
Do you weigh yourself every day....I try not to because its discouraging to me.

Corrie
Tue, Jun-11-02, 12:57
I weigh in every coiple of days if I am on a roll like I am now. If it is anywhere near the first day of my bloated day - I don't go any where near it for a week!

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-11-02, 13:06
I think I will stay away for a few days!

Corrie
Thu, Jun-13-02, 13:23
I got on the scale this morning and was the same - groan - I hate that.

sydneyalex
Thu, Jun-13-02, 13:32
I'm not getting on the scale...I am scared..

I feel so fat for some reason..my clothes are snug....but I have done really well the last two days...drinking that water like you told me too..

Hey guess what..I won $297.00 on the radio today...is that cool or what.

Rhonda

Corrie
Thu, Jun-13-02, 13:35
Really cool!!!

Treat your self to a new outfit a couple of sizes small and hang it up where you can see it!

When my clothes are snug - it is because they shrunk - no really,
it is!!!!

sydneyalex
Thu, Jun-13-02, 13:39
I already have lots of clothes I cant wear..I have a pair of white Calvin Klein capris, size 10 that I cannot zip....looking forward to wearing them one day soon....... :D

I missed talking to ya the last couple of days...Bloom has mailed me a few times...she is really sweet and in New Zealand...she has done well also..

Almost time for me to go home...

Corrie
Thu, Jun-13-02, 13:43
Well where have you been? Who is bloom? have her (i'm assuming it's a her) join us....
I have a closet FULL of clother I can't wear as well. You don't even want to know what size they are.

sydneyalex
Thu, Jun-13-02, 13:47
Corrie,

Hell I dont know what I did....I dont know how I got a message from her...oh well...I am still trying to figure this stuff out..was looking at the recipies...some good ones here.

Rhonda

Corrie
Thu, Jun-13-02, 13:48
Cool - bring her on over!

sydneyalex
Thu, Jun-13-02, 13:51
I'll try...not sure how to do that....

I know I must sound so stupid...I just have to get used to this site...I have done well today..you would be proud of me....

Time for me to go home...you have a good evening. :p

sydneyalex
Fri, Jun-14-02, 07:19
Mornin Corrie,

Its Friday.....thank god...although I am going to do some part-time work tomorrow at the beach...cleaning condos...extra money (need that being a single mom) and probley some good exercise...I will be on the go all day...

I weighed this morning....Havent lost a thing...I should have known better than to get on the scale...Hopefully in a couple of days it will move....really been working on getting that water down....

Last nite I have some baked fish and mushroons cooked in butter..it was pretty good.

Rhonda

Corrie
Fri, Jun-14-02, 08:26
Rhonda,

Ah - the beach - sigh........
I have not laid eyes on the beach (west coast) since I was 18 - and have never been to the east coast. I LOVE digging my toes in the sand.

My scale has not moved all week either......I must be making up for last week - but my clothes are looser - must be catching up from last week - hehehehehe.

I am craving mushrooms - you are the second person who had mushrooms with dinner - num.

We are having a huge bbq here at work today for all our clients. I hope nobody thinks I'm too crazy when I make my burger without the bun. Oh - I am hungry - that sounds so good!!!

How are you?

Corrie

sydneyalex
Fri, Jun-14-02, 08:49
Corrie,

We have the prettiest beaches around. The sand is so white and the water is blue-green,,,,in fact its called the Emerald Coast.

It sure is hot, around 95 every day now...and gettin hotter and the humidity is terrible.... I have some summer sausage and cheese for lunch! I think your lunch sounds better.

Going out of a good size boat this sunday, that should be fun but I had hoped to have dropped a few pounds by then...dont look like it will happen. So you have times that you dont lose for a few days...is everyone that way?

Rhonda

Corrie
Fri, Jun-14-02, 09:05
Rhonda,

It's a whole 67 here right now - but will be up to 90 by the end of the day.

I LOVE summer sausage!

My family (dad) has a house boat and we go to Lake Powell a couple times a year - it's so much fun - do you know anything about lake powell???

And yes I do that all the time - I lose 5 pounds or so - overnight it seems and then slow back down while my size kinda catches up (or down I mean). So one week I lose weight and then the next I lose inches......Lots of people are like that. Those people who can see a loss every day or so make me crazy!

sydneyalex
Fri, Jun-14-02, 09:09
Corrie,

Never heard of Lake Powell. I hate those people too that lose every day... I know I am not about to slip up again and eat something I am not suppose to...I felt so bad when I did that the other day. :(

Glad to know the lack of weight loss is normal on this diet...I hate those people that lose daily too.

Rhonda

I'm so glad this thread was posted. I have been having trouble eating 3 squares a day and will try eating 5 times a day instead. Kudos to all on your hard work and dedication !

Hi Marie,

Is is suppose to be better to eat 5 times a day?

Rhonda

Corrie
Fri, Jun-14-02, 09:23
Yep - you are doing ok!!!

When you get a second - type lake powell into your browser.

It is a huge lake in the middle of the utah/arizona desert made by the glen canyon dam. It has more beach mileage than either coast. It is north of the grand canyon - so picture red towering cliffs - red sand beaches and millions of coves to explore.....

Hi Rhonda ,
From what I'm hearing Rhonda , yes it is better to eat 5 small meals a day. I think this would be more managable for me as well. I have always been a high carb eater but never a big eater. I think the smaller meals more often would make my transition a lot easier.Let me know what you think ?Hope you're having a great day! :D

Marie

Corrie
Fri, Jun-14-02, 09:43
Hi Marie.

Rhonda - Yes - Never go more than 6 waking hours without a protein - like I said - even if it is just a hard boiled egg......

Lake Powell is no where near chilly - it is in the middle of the desert - 120 degrees for a daytime high in the middle of summer.....

sydneyalex
Fri, Jun-14-02, 09:46

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I've been really busy and haven't had much time online.

Thanks for your messages Corrie - It was nice to know I was missed!

In work I have staff at my desk all day. They all know I'm doing Atkins but I wouldn't want them seeing me post personal messages since I expect them to be working!

I haven't weighted in yet. But I am doing ok - I may break down and weigh in this weekend (it's been 2 weeks).

Corrie I took your suggestion about eating something during the day at my desk, it seems like I feel better if I do that, so I will try to stick to it. You are still doing great!

Sydneyalex how are things going for you? I read that you have been drinking more water, that's really good. I drink all day long - it doesn't seem like it helps me lose any faster, but I always drank alot anyway.

Do you guys only post Monday - Friday? I do most of online time over the weekends. Sometimes I'm on at night, but mostly on the weekends.

Hi Marie, welcome to the thread.

I'll check back when I can - maybe I can try to get on some days next week while I am at work.

Take care
Summer

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 08:06
Hi Summer,

Corrie,

How are you today? I bet you have lost weight again..

Marie,

How are you doing? Any luck.

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 08:48
Hello!!!

Hi again Summer - I do most of my posting at work as well. When I am at home - I am usually chasing around the baby!!! I am glad you are having a snack at work - It will pay off!

Hello Marie - How R U?

Hey Rhonda - what's up?? Yes I have lost 2 more pounds!!!
I have now lost 40 pounds and in 3.5 more pounds I will be 1/2 way to goal!!!!

I expect things to come to a screeching halt in a day or to as my TOM is about to overtake me!!! hurrah.

No cheats for me this weekend - was kinda hard yesterday because the kids wanted Cheetos (Love em) but I managed to hold out!

I am burnt to a crisp - was out too long at our pool yesterday - it's a strapless bra for me today!!!

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 08:54
Corrie,

It is my TOM as well...should happen by the end of the week, thats why I am not weighing...you would be so proud of me because of the water I am drinking...I sure can tell a difference since I started that.

I went out in a boat yesterday but didnt get too much sun..I go to the tanning bed some so I have a good base tan....I know those things are bad for you..

I didnt cheat either this weekend...so glad I have done so well...sure hope I have lost something....Cant believe your halfway there...good for you!!!

Rhonda

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 09:07
It's the end of the week for me too!!! But I can weigh right up to the day it begins as that is the day all hell breaks loose for me!
Should be fun.

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 09:39
Isnt it crazy, that it will be around the same time....maybe I should weigh...I just feel so bloated......I shouldnt be tho as much time as I spend going to the bathroom...

I have hambuger patties and tomatoes for lunch...what are you eating...I had a carb solution shake for breakfast.

Rhonda

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 09:51
See??? We are already in sync.
lol

I had a burger pattie with cheese for breakfast.
It will be tuna salad with a HB egg for lunch.

It's funny - I can feel my hands starting to swell today.

:(
They are running the air conditioner here like it is already 95 outside today (it's 76) I am freezing...must be my burn.

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 10:02
Corrie,

Probably is the burn....I tried to get some sun yesterday but cant tell I got anything....

I am about to eat lunch...I just eat here at my desk...Not sure whats for dinner tonite.

Rhonda

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 10:13
I tried some of that canned chicken breast - It was pretty good - I made an easy chicken salad out of it - but it was pretty salty.

I needed something with flavor today - so I am drinking crystal light lemonade...

Tanyaskees
Mon, Jun-17-02, 10:57
Hang in there Rhonda, it will happen. Corrie is right, water.....water....and more water. Also I have read back over you eating plans some and I think you are not eating enough. I found that when I eat more fat and protien I loose faster. Eat 5 or 6 time a day, that will help. Look at me, just got here and already telling you what to do :daze:

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 10:59
Tanya,

Thats what its all about...you can tell me what to do...you have lost a lot of weight...congrats...I am happy for you...

I certainly am drinking the water, 80-90 oz a day...but I still have a soda or too...cant quit completely...

Rhonda

Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:00
Rhonda, I have been LCing since September of last year. The first 30 pounds or so came off really fast and then it all slowed down. I have cheated some as well, usually on the weekend, but only once or twice in the weekend. I don't cheat all weekend, just maybe some ice cream after diner out and back on lc with the next meal. I am back on NO CHEAT. Working on day 8 w/o cheating. I need to get this wieght off.

Tanyaskees
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:04
I dring 2 or 3 diet cokes a day too. That is probably part of my problem. I am sure I would loose faster if I didn't, but oh well, can't give up all the things I like. I also quit smoking a month ego, maybe that is also the reason the wieght is not comming off as fast. I want to give up diet cokes, but I just haven't been able to do it yet. Maybe that will be my next project.

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:04
You have lost alot...I know you will get to your goal...Sept...thats almost a year...I cant imagine doing this for a year...but I guess I better get used to it.....

Rhonda

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:07
I love my diet coke.....! I have cut my consumption in half...and I am very proud to say that....the water is making me feel fuller, but I cant stay out of the bathroom! :p

Rhonda

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:11
When I slow down I cut out everything I know I shouldn't be having - Like I said - I can't drink diet soda or coffee - it slows me way down - Yesterday my mom brought me a diet coke and I had a sip or 2 to thank her - but it really tasted like garbage!! When she left - I dumped it!! It felt really good - because even tho' technically it's not really a cheat - it is a cheat for me.

I simply know that with NO cheating It comes off a lot faster for me. I have made the mental choice to get thru this as quickly as I can and painless as possible. The first time I did this I slowed down to a loss of 5 pounds per month near the second half of my program - I was drinking coffee & diet pop and had upped my carb intake towards the maintenance phase..I'm not going to do that this time. I WANT IT GONE.
Rhonda - don't worry - re read the induction material. follow it to the letter.

Tanyaskees
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:13
Well Rhonda, I don't think of LC is a diet. It is a way of life for me. This is the only way I can loose weight and keepit off. I have worked veryhard loosing, I am not about to go back and gain it all again. Actually it very easy once you are used to it, just hang in there girl, it will get easier and will be worth it

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:14
I challenge you both to re start induction. Follow it like your life depended on it for 1 week.

Cut out all diet soda - no nutra sweet (which gives me headaches and slows me down as I have a sensitivity to it) no carbonation - causes retention of excess water. No coffee - no caffeine of anykind.

Don't say you can't give up everything you love....I did. Try it for 2 weeks.

Tanyaskees
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:16
Good for you Corrie, I wish I had your determination and positive attitude. Sent some of it this way............PLEAAAASEEEEE.

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:17
Corrie,

Do I sense a little PMS??? LOL - Just kidding....I just cant imagine a diet coke tasting bad....maybe I will get there one day..I would like to not drink them either..but I dont drink coffee and it helps wake me up in the moring...

Thanks to both of you for the encouragement...plan to get on the treadmill this afternoon, if the company will stay away that has been gathering at my house lately....geesh....now I sound like I have PMS.......

Rhonda

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:19

A challenge.....first of all I know I cant go without at least one diet soda a day....I know that...

Tanyaskees
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:21
Ouch Corrie, no coffee????? Can i start with giving up diet cokes and move on to coffe later???
I can't imagine no coffee in the morning, but I am down to one cup.

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:22
WRONG ANSWER!

You can too - and when it works for you the same way it does for me - you will never touch another one again.
And I don't get PMS until the day of - so there.

And Tanyaskees - this IS for you 2!!!

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:23
Do you really need the coffee? or do you just want something hot? I switched to decaf - I just need a cup of warmth to get me going! Try it for 2 weeks!

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:24
Corrie,

I dont know...I can try...I just dont think I can give up my soda...please understand...I am not as strong as you are my friend....

Tanya, what do you think?

Tanyaskees
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:26
I have always made fun of people who dring decaf...LOL. Oh well, I guess I can try anything for a while, Corrie, YOU ARE ON girlfriend......

Tanyaskees
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:29
Look Ya'll, I am a chicken leg....cool

Rhonda, come on girl, lets do it. No cokes, no coffee, no smoking, no eating.....life is a bitch.....just kidding. We can do this, nad if I loose 2 pounds in a week, Corrie, you win, no more cokes or coffee.

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:34
Tanya!! WTG! you can do it - You'll see that as soon as you get used to not having coffee and soda - your body can dump 6 pounds almost overnight!

Rhonda - you can do it. Don't think about it in the terms of 2 weeks without diet coke. Think of it in terms of 1 day at a time. Just one day with out it. Make my diet lemonade and have it with you at all times (water, ice, splenda and a little lemon juice) and whenever you need a drink - slug it down!!! I have a water bottle of it with me always!!!

Trust me - it will kickstart everything. Not everybody has to give it up - unfortunately some of us do....You will wonder what you ever thought tasted so good. Once you break free of the diet soda addiction it's really hard to go back to them You can realy tase the nasty aftertaste of the artificial sweetner (and by the way - did you know that nutra sweet eats holes in your brain? TRUE STORY). Some people are just really sensitive to carbonation, nutra sweet and caffeine....Just try it to see.
What have you got to lose??? Except weight?

sydneyalex
Mon, Jun-17-02, 11:41
I cant take this pressure.........HELP<<<<<<I love love love my diet coke...but oK...I will try it...Like you say Corrie, one day at a time...OK....So you make your own lemonade..that s cool..I'll try that too....... :o

Mon, Jun-17-02, 13:17
Good for you!
Remember to follow the other diet rules as well. 5 pounds is kidstuff!!! No problem!!!

Eat plenty of protein and fat - take your vitamins and drink your water!!! Make your carbs count - Eat a good salad!! Make sure the dressing has little to no carbs!! Watch how much cheese you eat as well!!!

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 13:18
Tanya - what does that mean???

Tanyaskees
Mon, Jun-17-02, 13:35
It means I was a big cheater when I joined this forum and followed Atkins whenI wasn't cheating :daze: I guess I need to change my profile tosay Atkins. I am drinking my first cup of decaf....yuk :Puke: It'll take some getting used too. Thanks for the help Corrie, I really appritiate it.

Corrie
Mon, Jun-17-02, 13:39
Good for you!
It does take some getting used to - but you'll get the swing of it.
Now - for the next 14 days I want you to read and re-read the chapters up to induction so you remember what you're working for and why - I keep mine by my bed and read it every night - i am not kidding. It keeps the principals fresh in my mind.
I don't think of this as a diet anymore - it's the way I have to eat to live.

Tanyaskees
Mon, Jun-17-02, 13:58
thanks Corrie, I do read the books all the time. Now I am reading PP book and it is really good. I have lots to do before bed, I listen to a no smoking tape, now reading diet books....LOL. But I am like you, it is a way of life to me, not a diet. If I think of it as a diet, I will get off one day and gain the weight back....NOT.

Tue, Jun-18-02, 06:19

Good morning ladies. I am grumpy this morning, no diet cokes and no coffee :( . This is not going to be easy. Rhonda, how are you doing with this? Corrie, can I give up the cokes and still have 1 or 2 cups of coffee? My head is beginning to hurt too....WAAHHHHH.

HI Guys,

Yesterday Breakfast: 1 carb solution drink - (3 carbs)

Lunch - 2 good size hamburger patties
cucumber & tomato salad

Snack - Pork Rinds,,,,not sure how many..

Dinner - Chicken Wings, baked in the oven, w
Blue Cheese dressing.

Had 80-90 oz of water....and 2 diet cokes....for the day.

I think thats it!

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 08:29
And make sure you are eating too....reward yourself by having a little protein goodie of somekind!!!

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 08:34
I want you to start writing down or logging in everything you eat.

I keep my food journal at www.atkinscenter.com. Just register and create your journal....Plus it is loaded with wonderful information.

You really should be well on your way by now - which is why I am pretty sure that like me - you are sensitive to nutra sweet, caffeine, and carbonation or all the above when they are mixed together.

OK - now who''s gonna hold my hand? I'm up 1/2 pound this morning - but my hands hurt like hell - water weight. I drank too much crystal light yesterday (that damn nutrasweet again) and it is making me hold water. Speaking of...I need to grab a glass.

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-18-02, 08:40
Corrie,

I hope I am just retaining water since its that TOM....I hope I am not that sensitive to Nutra Sweet..If so I am going to be so mad...I am not giving up NO WAY...I am just frustrated!

1/2 pound is nothing/at least its not a whole pound....so keeping a food log helps in some way???

Rhonda

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 08:44
It does help. If you write down every thing you eat when you eat it - you'll see exactly how many carbs etc staring back at you.
I think if you follow induction strictly for a few more days you'll see a good loss after tom goes bye bye - mine is coming up this weekend - yippee.

Tanyaskees
Tue, Jun-18-02, 08:54
What is that I hear about crystal light???? Making us give up our cokes and she is drinking crystal light :nono: .....LOL, just kidding. Hey, what about fresca, do you know what's in fresca, I hear it is pretty good.

Hey Corrie, don't worry about the little gain,it will come off tomorrow.

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 08:57
As the day goes on - I sit here and realize that I am REALLY CRABBY.

I am having to gag down my breakfast of 2 eggs - but am eating...
:(

My sunburn is a little better today - but my shoulders were almost purple yesterday. OUCH

Oh well - all I can to is try to get thru the day... :Puke: :skull:

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 09:00
HAH - I was demonstrating how BAD it is for you by example.
Make my lemonade drink - I know I've told you this before - water ice lemon juice and splenda. The whole idea is to stay away from equal, caffeing and carbonation.
Then - once you break the addiction you try them one at a time for a few days and see which slow you down, then move to combining them and you will be able to determine what you are sensitive to...

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-18-02, 09:09
Tanya,

What did you hear about Fresca? Man I havent had one of those in a long time....I think this afternoon I will make some of
Corries lemonade and drink that....

Corrie - I am feeling crabby too....Mine is PMS, I should start on Friday.....and the days before it are always a pain in the butt....
:tears:

Tue, Jun-18-02, 09:16
Rhonda, I just heard that it is better than before, need to check on what's in it. I don't like lemon, so Corries dring won't work for me. I can dring water all day long, but I do need a cup of coffee in the morinng. I am drinking one now (Corrie, don't be mad) with heavy cream and splenda, just one. My head is really hurting now and I am at work, so I have to focus. Sorry Corrie, one thing at a time for me.

Ok, let's go !!!!

Hey Corrie, are you not talking to me because i had a cup of coffee? Come back Corrie !!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok girls, I have to et some work done, I'll check in in a little while to say hi  Have a good lunch.

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 09:38
No - I'm here - I had to go get some work done too!!!

Tanya - you are going thru caffeine withdrawl - go a few days with no diet coke and then work on the coffee.
Start by mixing 1/2 cup coffee and 1/2 cup decaf and slowly lower the ratio of coffee over a few days until it is just decaf.

Rhonda - lets just be crabby together. You can have any un sweetened berries fresh or frozen. No watermelon right now. If youwant a treat have 1/2 cup of slices strawberries in a little heavy cream with a splenda packet!
But I would still wait a little while...

summer10
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:08
OK, I made an effort to log in while I am at work so that I could join the conversation.

You guys are doing a ton of talking!

I've already drank 64 oz of water today. I had 1/2 cup of regular coffee before I left the house. (I just can't bring myself to drink decaf - last time I tried I had a massive headache.)

Corrie, I have been making an effort to eat at my desk during the day - 4 meals a day instead of 3 - and I FINALLY lost another pound. Thanks for your input.

I was reading your posts from yesterday and I don't think I am eating enough fat. I am working on trying to increase that. Last night I had an ounce of macadamia nuts.

Do either of you eat those lo carb candy bars?

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:12
Hi Summer,

Great on the water...I have had about 40 oz this mornin, still got a ways to go.....

Rhonda

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:14
I eat them sometimes - but never a whole one at once..Do you mean the snack bars, meal replacement bars or the candy bars???

The sugar free candy bars are just like having a packet of splends - you can onlu have a little square.

The snack bars are good - make sure they say low carb on them - most have about 22 grams of pro. and some fat. I usually try to eat half of one if I don't have anything else around aat work during the day.

The meal replacement bars are really heavy and there is no way I can eat a whole one at once.

summer10
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:15
Hi Rhonda,

I have tried the low carb candy bars. I usually have one on Sunday nights - I try to limit it to one or two a week. The Atkins chocolate are pretty good. The new Carbolite flavors are pretty good too. You can't eat too many because they have a laxative effect. But they are OK once in a while.

Summer

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:20
I was talking mainly about the candy bars...Corrie I cant stop at one square...maybe half the bar...but not one square...

Has anyone tried the De-Lite candy bars....they are outta this world...Also, any of you use the lo carb bread?

I am just curious if this stuff is allowed?

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:22
It is allowed later, after induction when you are settled into a weight loss pattern - but I wouldn't have any yet.

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:23
Ok...I see...thanks
:p

summer10
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:23
I haven't tried the low carb bread. I don't really miss bread and for me it is better if something is totally restricted. I know myself well enough to know the more choices I have the more likely I will have problems.

I've never had the de-lite bars did you get them on line or ~ a retailer?

Summer

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:24
I have never had them either.

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:28
You can them on line...but there is a health food store here where you can buy them....Its Belguim chocolate and they have alot of varietys....they are excellent...they even have White Chocolate...and they dont taste lo-carb...they are very creamy!

summer10
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:38
Rhonda,
I will have to look for them.

Have you tried the new IMPROVED Atkins bars. I didn't care for the old bars, but they have improved the taste and they are much better. The chocolate peanut butter is really good. I usually keep one in my bag incase I do not have access to low carb foods.

I'm off to lunch - I will try to check in again later.

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:42
Enjoy your lunch.... :sunny:

Rhonda....

Corrie,

Are you still feeling grouchy?

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:43
There is a vitamin store here where I buy my protein shake powder and stuff like that -
What do you mix with your carb solutions drink? water or milk?

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:47
Yes - but I am trying to get over it.

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:48
I use water, when I mix it up...

I buy the premixed ones in the 8 oz bottles most of the time...

I have one every morning....maybe I should start having eggs and bacon..

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:49
It couldn't hurt!!!
I just have the eggs - no time to cook bacon.

sydneyalex
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:53
If your like me there is not time to do anything in the morning...I want to start getting on the treadmill for 10 minutes in the moring before I shower...that should help some.

Corrie
Tue, Jun-18-02, 10:56
I don't have time to exercise in the morning - will NEVER happen.
I usually wait till I get home from work but it has been to hot in the afternoon to go for a walk. I will swim again as soon as my burn is a little better....

hi girls, hey Summer

Just checking in to see what I missed. Good news...headache is gone!!!!!.

Rhonda, I eat de-lights and I love them. I love dark chocolate and it has the least carbs. I just had a little peace. WONDERFUL. I get them at our local GNC or walgreens. About the shake mixes, I am a real ice cream junkie, so what I do is add a little heavy cream, little water and bunch of crushed ice. Then in the blender mix until it is really thick and icecream consistency. Man...talking about good :yum:. Try it, it will be worth it.

sydneyalex

Tanyaskees
Tue, Jun-18-02, 11:34
the whole dark chocolate de-lite bar is 1.1 carbs and it soooooooooo good. Corrie, adding it to the shake sounds wonderful, I will do that tonight. Rhonda, I use Atkins and Keto to make my shakes. Haven't tried carb solutions, I didn't like their bars, but will try the shake mix. Did ya'll have a good lunch? I did...yammmm. Later girls, back to work :(

Rhonda sorry to hear about your relationship issues.

Hi Summer,

I am not doing well this morning either with the water..I dont even have my 33 oz down yet....I am pretty upset about everything...this guy wont stop callin here at work...his last words were your just a fat-ass wrinkly loser sob mf....but he wont leave it at that...he just keeps calling....If I am all that why cant he leave me alone.....

To all of you,
I am sorry, I am just in tears and upset...I am a good decent person, this guy is a complete alcoholic and he wont leave me alone.....My feelings are really hurt.

Corrie
Wed, Jun-19-02, 09:15
Rhonda - You tell him if he doesn't leave you alone that you have a crazy bellydancer who is going to come and kick his ass.

Really sweetie - you need to tell your supervisor or someone who can help - do you have a direct extension or is he coming thru the switchboard??? Is there anyway to filter out his calls?? Can you just send him straight to voice mail???

I had an ass like that once - we were splitting up just as I had become pregnant with our son - he called me a beached whale and lots of fun things. Just blow it off - think how splendid you really are - you care enough about yourself to make this life change - and he has no place with or anywhere near the new you!!!! Thats why they call - they see you becoming more confident. They see you not needing them anymore and they will do or say anything to try and drag you back down so you will feel as miserable as they do. DONT LET HIM DO IT. Ask for help.

summer10
Wed, Jun-19-02, 09:24
Rhonda,
I agree with Corrie, you need to get some help here. If he is being threatening you should consider a restraining order, then he won't be able to contact you at all.

In the meantime, don't let his comments get you down. He probably feels threatened that you are taking care of yourself and moving on. No one has the right to make you feel bad. Don't let him have that.

Summer

I am doing good on the water, so far about 52 oz. Corrie, now that I can't have a coke onthe way to work, guess what I drink. 20 oz bottle of water. Can you actually dring too much water? Yesterday I had like 150 oz. or so. I think I'll start a thread and see what the others think.

Hi Summer, Tanya, and Corrie,

How is everyone this morning..working on 32 oz of water, almost got it all down, then will start on the second 32 oz. I am offically moving my office to the bathroom...I spend most of my time there, although I must say with my tom right now..I am not going as much...I feel so bloated and swollen....

Rhonda :(

Corrie
Thu, Jun-20-02, 08:31
Just take your desk phone with you!!! lol
I know what you mean - but I am not quite so swollen today. - but my hands still hurt like they are full of water - plus I started getting cramps in my legs last night so I had to take some extra potassium this morning.

I have a meeting today so I'll be gone in a little while.
But have got a little time.....

Posting and reading is keeping me from getting all my work done.

I've only drank about 50 ozs of water today. I am behind and need to drink more.

Rhonda,
How is your situation going? I was thinking about you last night. I hope things are better and that you're feeling better about it too.

Corrie,
Did you get anything good at the mall? I need to spend some time shopping (I love to shop!!!) but I don't want to buy clothes until I am smaller.

Summer

Corrie
Thu, Jun-20-02, 09:16
SUmmer - I know what you mean - I am noit getting done at work what I should be - must work on that. I did get a lot done yesterday however....

YES - Rhonda - how are thing going today??? What happened???

Summer -
I got a LOVELY pair of cat eye sunglasses with rhinestones at the corners. We spent mostly on my husband as he was out of town for fathers day and I wanted him to pick out his treat - so we got him a couple of cool shirts - new shoes and a couple cd's (one for me and one for him) I have just discovered "The Hives"
WOW - they are great - it will be a wonderful "by the pool" cd for this summer!!!

I am only up to about 20 ounces of water (I think my time zone is about 2 hours behind you guys!!!) Plus I am no where near hungry - I hate it when I have to force myself to eat (Listen to me). No way I'd have said that a few months ago!!!

summer10
Thu, Jun-20-02, 09:21
Corrie,
I don't like to take my boyfriend shopping with me. He'll tag along sometimes, but basically he just holds me back. He'd prefer I go without him anyway! How is your husband? I guess you had to bring him if he was picking out his gift.

Summer

Corrie
Thu, Jun-20-02, 09:30
I don't take him all the time - but it was his turn.
I don't take him when I shop for me. I don't want him to see me if I try on a new size or something. I had to buy new clother - but I just bought a few and they are already loose - Next is a size 10!!!
Everything in my closet is a size 6 - prior to my last success on this program - I had not worn a size 6 since I was in Jr high....

I still can't get used to the fact that I look different. I mean - I know I do, but I still "see" myself as larger. My mom in law pulled out some photos from Easter - I cringed when I saw the photos of myself - I can't believe I let myself get that way.... I handed them back to her in disgust....

I can really tell I am kinda starting to feel better about myself...I have rediscovered my BIG interest in make up and accessories. Plus there is this lovely little outfit in JC Penney's I have my eye on......Do I buy it to fit now??Or smaller for the end of summer??? HMMM - but the point is I like to play with make up again - I care how I look. I guess that's a good thing I showed it to my husband last night - perhaps he will get it for my birthday - he's really good about paying attention to things like that.....

sydneyalex
Thu, Jun-20-02, 09:52
Corrie,

Sounds like you had a great time at the mall.....I would wait and
get the outfit at the end of summer!!!(if its still there)

Summer, that is really sweet you thought about me...I had a very tough nite...very tough....he kept calling and leaveing messages, really nasty ones....tore my self esteem totally down....hurt me really bad..I know I should have not even listened to the messages...he is such a loser and I have taken more off of him than anyone before...He has hit me several times in the past...that should have made me move on then.....but he always comes and begs his way back in......NOT This time...My eyes hurt from crying alot....I should not have been crying but those messages hurt me so much...I have been seeing this guy for 2 years and something is always wrong....it seems like every other day he shows his ass about something...especially my kids!!! He is jealous of them.

I don't want to pry - but have you considered getting a restraining order?

He needs to get the message that you are not interested in him anymore. That's awful that he has hit you. No one deserves that.

His comments don't mean any thing. Just keep focusing on the positive things you are doing. Standing up for yourself and saying that you deserve so much better than him.

It helps to hear those encouraging words....I am behind on my water too...only drank about 40oz this morning.....workin on it tho...A restraining order will cost me $100.00, amazing what you have to pay for protection....He really has gotten to me...Corrie your right, I will turn off the answering machine but my cell phone has voice mail and even if its off he can leave a message....

It must be meeting day, seems everyone had meetings today...are you guys really that important???? :p

Just messing with ya...I have not been on much today either.

Here is what I have eaten: 1 8 oz carb sol drink for breakfast
& 3 hamburger patties for lunch plus my water....Not sure about dinner yet...I want some shrimp but I dont know.

Thanks again, sorry to bother you with this relationship issue but its just so heavy on my mind!!

Rhonda

Rhonda,
Just take care of yourself. I can't believe they charge $100. for a restraining order, that's ridiculous.

I don't know what's wrong with me lately but yesterday and today I have been starving.

Today I had an egg for breakfast
An atkins bar for snack
Chicken salad for lunch
I'll probably have Chicken and spinach for supper

I am still so behind on my water, but I am trying to catch up.

BTW I am not that important! LOL
