OK, I went out last night to a chinese buffet and I splurged. I ate everything they had including the desserts. So, my question is, do I just start back to what I was doing? And how much does this affect my progress? I have been lo-carbing for 3 weeks and have lost 15 lbs. Lord, I hope I don't gain any weight back! I feel sooo guilty today for eating what I did.

Hi Tanya!
Don't be too surprised if the scale goes up a bit, but it will likely be water weight and not true fat gain. I'd suggest that you just go right back to what you were doing before your splurge and think about what caused it in the first place. It also helps to develop strategies to prevent it from happening again. I think that probably 80% of us have been in your shoes. Don't beat yourself up over it and just get right back on track again.

Hi Tanya, We must of had the same weekend. I was so good for the past 3 weeks, then I cheated and ate hamburger, fries and even a milk shake. I also am disappointed in myself. Do we need to go back to the induction phase? Carole

I suspect you can get back and the damage may be minimal...
But the real question here is why did this happen? What made you decide that a burger and fries and milkshake or everything on the Chinese food buffet was more important than the change in WOE you felt was necessary a few weeks ago?
If you take some time to analyze the reasons for the "splurge", perhaps you can avoid it in the future.
Please don't think I'm being harsh. There may be many good reasons for letting yourself eat like that. Maybe you're afraid of success. Maybe you just weren't prepared (LCing does take some planning until you get more knowledgable), or maybe you just didn't think you had alternatives--have the burger...have three, but don't eat the bun. Tell them to leave the fries off the plate if you're subject to caving in. Chinese? probably not a good idea. But try Egg Foo Young without the gravy. Or shrimp with veggies...
Good luck....
