 Hi everyone...my name is Laura and I'm new to this forum. I started the low carb thing about 4 weeks ago. I've lost about ten pounds. I went off the diet for about a week during my finals.....I got real stressed out and couldn't handle any diet restrictions (had lots of candy...carbs and sugars off the charts!) But I'm back on it now and hopefully I'll stick to it cause it really does work. I gained my freshman 15 at school....I'm gonna be a senior and this is the only diet in which I've been able to lose anything at all. Good luck to everyone! I definitely hear everyone on how difficult it is at the bars! Vodka and diet coke sounds good.....does anyone know if rum and diet coke is ok to have?

Hey LauLose25!
I guess it all depends on if you are on induction or not. Alcohol in any form is a no-no on induction. Your body will use the acohol for fuel before it will burn fat. It will not necessarily make you gain weight, but it will slow your weight loss. It is murder going to school and trying to live this WOL. Weekends consist a lot of going to the pub with friends and it is hard not to get swayed to have a few. ;)
The diet has definitely been working for me so far, but I find that I too have lost sight of it on occasion. :( I try not to beat myself up over it, but summer is coming so I have to get serious!!
Best of luck with the LCing!!

Hey LauLose25!
I did Carb Addicts for the second half of my second semester this year and didn't find it to be too much of a problem. I'm on CAD so alcohol is okay as long as its contained within the hour of your dinner. Anyway I found that rum & diet coke is good, or Vodka and diet 7-up(and for a little extra flavour, try those flavoured vodka's by smirnoff)
By the way, I looked at your stats, congrats on your loss! It feels great eh?
