It is now day 15. I started at 178 and this morning, I am 178. At times, I go up to 181. For a week, my ketostix were purple. For the past two days, either a very faint trace of pink or tan. I have not cheated, not once. I am exercising. I drink at least 90 ounces of water a day. I am so discouraged. Maybe this diet is just not for me. I was truly hoping for at least a pound a week. Yesterday I ate:
Breakfast: Bacon, about 8 strips. Omelette with one ounce cheddar(ketostix was pink about an hour after breakfast) decaf with splenda and heavy cream
Lunch: Sardines, 1 ounce cheddar, deli roast beef
Dinner: chicken breast, salad with olive oil and vinegar
Snack: Fried salami
I would appreciate any advice on how to get this thing moving! Cheryl

I feel like about the least qualified person to reply to you, since it's taken me six months to learn how to make this diet work, but I've read enough posts on this forum to be able to suggest a couple of things. Go to fitday.com and enter your food and activity there. It will calculate your calories, carbs, protein, fat etc. for you. You may be eating too many calories or not enough calories. You should be eating 10-12X your body weight. It also looks like you're not eating enough vegetables. One salad a day is really not enough. Another thing I'd mention is that some people can't lose weight using any artificial sweeteners at all. I can't. My last suggestion would be to read all of the threads on the Turtle Club and on the Tips and Stalls. You'll find a wealth of information to draw on to help you get going. It's well worth the time, and you'll benefit from the wisdom and mistakes of many others. Good luck, Cheryl, and don't give up. It may take some time to figure out how to make this WOE work for you, but eventually you will, and you'll be healthier and happier for it.

Hi Cheryl!
Julius had some great suggestions for you. I would also suggest taking your measurements. Where you are exercising the scale may not be the best judge of what is going on with you. Also, beware of processed meats as they may have carbs in their fillers, and double check the carb content in your bacon. Some bacons are sugar cured and are higher in carbs than others.
Keep on keeping on, and browse around a lot and things are bound to start moving for you.
Best of luck!
