Hello everyone,

I am kind of new to LC dieting, so I apologize if this is a stupid quesion.

I have read a few posts (in the recipe forum) that people try to stay away from diet colas and SF products, like SF jello. Are SF products bad? I mean as far as carbs are concerned? I know they are not good for you in the sense that artifical sweeteners are chemicals, but is one diet cola a day bad?

Thank you,

Melissa

Hi lissylou! As far as diet colas go. It depends on your body. Some SF colas or treats (i.e. SF JellO) can cause people to stall. You'r body thinks it's getting sweets even when it really isn't. The best thing for you to do is listen to your body. I personally have been LC'ing since November and I still drink my Diet Mt Dew everyday. (I'm totally addicted) and have been loosing no problems. I eat SF Jello too! But, I have friends (others on this LC Board) who have to be very careful as artifical sweeteners cause them to stall. You're right about the other health risk though. I really need to get rid of the pop. I am down to only 1 24oz botle a day. (Was up to 2+ liters a day  ) Sorry there is no miracle answer here. Every-- body-- is different. You may be able to handle some on occasion ir you may pay the price.

Take care and good luck! And remember there is NO such thing as a stupid question! We are all here to help out and share secrets/tricks to this LC thing.

Messy,

Thank you for getting back with me regarding the diet colas. I was addicted to regular Pepsi before LCing. Now, I drink maybe one can of Diet Pepsi, or Pepsi One every few days.

Thanks again for answering my question!

Good luck :)
