I cannot give the details for carbs or calories but I can tell you it is delish!

1-lb ground meat, browned
1-pkg taco seasoning (mild or hot)
sour cream
lettuce (cut into small strips)
tomatoes (diced)
shredded cheese
For the sour cream, lettuce, cheese and tomatoes: use as much as you desire.

Combine meat and taco seasoning according to package directions. Layer meat, cheese, sour cream, lettuce and tomatoes. Viola!
A quick lunch or dinner without the taco shell.

Enjoy!

We like to have this at our house. We also add sliced black olives.

Anyone know the carb count for this Taco-Salad? I made some last night, and I don't know how much to put in at fitday.

I am a big fan of Romaine because according to the Netzer food counts book, most brands have Fiber as 100% of carbs (effectively free on Atkins). This means I use it in everything, and am a big fan of Ceasar's salad.
So, because I use so much, this week I bought a huge bag at BJ's and DW and myself have been eating it at every dinner. Then I look on the bag... it was CARBY!! I rushed back to my Netzer guide and sure enough at the bottom of the list: DOLE brand romaine has sugar carbs! And the ingredients just say: Romaine Lettuce.

Once I get some Real Romaine, I can't wait to try a nice Taco salad. Yum!

One time my *skinny* 13 year old daughter wanted me to make her a taco salad. I was out of taco seasoning so I just browned up the hamburger without it. We just used a bit of sour cream, lettuce, a bit of diced tomato cheese and a little bit of salsa. Then she got some ranch dressing and put some on it and just mixed it all together. This is the only way she'll eat it now and doesn't even want the chips, so I don't have to buy any and worry about having chips around the house. She certainly doesn't need to diet but she loves it when I experiment with different recipes. She has liked more of the low carb recipes than I have LOL.
