Has anyone had any experience with the replacment gum? I have totally quit smoking and any desire to smoke but I am addicted to the Gum!! i have been chewing it for about 4years . It is hard to give up because there is no social stigma and I can have it any time I want without having to stand outside in the rain! Only thing is I am sure I have now increased my nictine addiction and it will be even harder to give up than ciggys were. :q: :q: :q:

Hi Eebee,
This sounds strange. This is not chewable tabaco we're talking about here? Or those nicorettes, or whatver they call them?

Don't you have this in Canada or America? No wonder no-one answered! It is very good for giving up cigarettes and is called NTR-'nicotine replacment therapy'. Nicorette and Nicotinell are two brands of gum that contain nicotine . You chew it while giving up the ciggys.
The theory is that you can overcome the psychological dependency ofsmoking- ie lighting, holding, inhaling, habit etc. Then when you have got used to that you gradually give up the gum. It works for getting away from smoking! I have no desire to smoke- YuK!! But I am finding giveing up the gum hard. Still even though one can get addicted to it it is alot better than smoking. Its safer - just a stimulent like strong coffee. :daze:
