Does anyone have any suggestions for LC gum/hard candies/whatever? I find this really helps me to not smoke but even the SF gum has a few carbs and I can go through a whole pak of gum in a day!
Thanks for any help!!!

What about chewing on a straw? Another suggestion I have heard is, a friend when she quit smoking chewed on cinnamon sticks.

Hi!
I just asked this same question in a different forum.
I am currently chewing either Trident or Dentine. Both claim to be good for carb reduced diets, but the card count is 1g/piece. I chew a pack a day. They have 0g sugar, but 7mg of aspartame.
I too am looking for a gum that has less or 0 carbs...

I used toothpicks and water. LOTS of water. Also...simply breathing through pursed lips. I found it better to get away from finding something to put in my mouth...it only made the oral fixation worse....now, just 8 months later...no compulsion to put something or have something in my mouth. Give yourself time.

Oral fixations suck ... Hehe I didn't even mean for that to be a pun.. I am 22 years old and I still suck my thumb.. I Know I am a freak ... I quit smoking and I cant very well put my thumb in my mouth in public.. Unless I want a lot of werid looks.. I gained 40 pounds when I quit smoking and started college And had ankle surgery ... :( I have lost 20 pounds of it ....yay .. I got my toung e peirced and it help some with the oral fixation b/c I had a something in my mouth to play with all the time .. but if that isnt an option I would suggesst chewing on something like a pen cap or ice or get one of those fake cigarettes .. :)

i suck my thumb, bite my finger nails, smoke, stick pens in my mouth and need to eat or drink constantly. luckily i don't have a serious weight problem (i'm 5'10 and 150 pounds) but i really wish i could control better what i put in my mouth. i seem to be able to manage all other areas of my life in terms of self control. but oral fixation sucks!!! anyone got any suggestions for the one who has it all???

Oh my gosh... I have the same problem - totall orally fixated: no nails, smoke, eat, drink, chew on anything around. My fiance has a suggestion but its hardly practical (wink).
Hmm... getting my tongue pierced. That might help.
I'm planning on making a real effort to quit smoking as soon as I have my new low-carb way of eating under control (or at least mostly). I'm only 1.5 weeks in now.

I chew on my bottom lip like there's no tomorrow.
I do it when happy; sad, thinking, nervous; tired, reading, singing, doing dishes.
My lip is always mangled!!

I used chewing on Cinnamon sticks.
You get nice breath, and you can ferociously bite on them.
