Dear all
I was wondering if anyone has had any success on the montignac plan?
if so do you mind sharing your success - ie how rapidly should I be losing weight. I am not worried if it is fast or slow - just curious.
Cheers

:o I have been following the Montignac diet. Read the book the end of last August and started right away. I was totally amazed at the way the fat just melted off me. By the end of the year I had lost 25 lb. I had always watched my weight, and had not eaten fat in years and I never had a sweet tooth. But the weight would just not come off. I also was working out every day ( and still am). I would still like to loose another 10 lb., so just this week I am totally giving up carbs all together. Prior to this week I was having 2 slices of whole grain toast with butter for breakfast, now I am eating boiled eggs and smoked meat. If you have any :D questions about the diet, feel free to ask me and good luck :D

Thanks so much for the advice and encouragement.
I think I shall have to give this a real good go - i.e. no cheating - I am a very good diet-cheater.
It is not a difficult diet but it is still quite a big lifestyle change ie being in UK - beer being a no no is lways problematic!!!! :daze:
But as you said it works so give it a go.
By the way do you feel excersie helped alot?
How rapid is the weight loss? Can I expect to lose 2 pounds a week or is that unrealistic?
Cheers

SlimUK,
I started the diet at the end of last August and the weight just seemed to melt off of me and by Christmas I was 25 lb. lighter. So I would say it would be possible to loose 2 lb. per week.
I do exercise and have done so for years. We moved to Montreal almost 2 years ago and bought a house with a pool. so in the summer I was swimminging 70 laps per day. In the fall I started walking every day and over the winter I have been doing hundreds of sit-ups and working our with weights. I don't know if the exercise helped alot, but for my own peace of mind, I think it is important.
Too bad about the beer, I still enjoy a glass of red wine after dinner.
Cheers, Skiwi

Hi
I live in Richmond (upon Thames) and I started Montignac 22 March. I have lost 10lbs and feel really great. I haven't cheated with sugar, flour, potatoes etc. I think I might have been eating too many nuts, so my advice would be to avoid them completely as it is very easy to snack on them and they are high in calories, even if they do have a low GI rate.
My skin and hair feels and looks great and I have loads of energy and I really haven't been tempted, even though I have been on holiday. I have drunk alcohol, but only a little red wine which is allowed.
Good luck with the plan, it really isn't difficult to follow at all.
