Does anyone know of a web site that has access to 'Bowes &
Church Nutritive Values of Foods', or 'Handbook #8', or
anything comparative?

I haven't found one yet that's up to date. That HB#8 is from
1963. It seems a lot has changed since then: You won't see
this headline in your paper, considering they depend on the ad
revenue from the (pseudo) food industry.
