I'm on a BO/CKD diet and I try to eat as much fat as possible but to me it's almost impossible to get all the fat I need by just using olive oil or something like that.
I mean, when I prepare (for example) chicken with 3 tablespoons of oil, there remains at least 1 tablespoon in the pan.
And I really hate the taste of pure oil so I just leave it there!!

Is it alright to add some heavy cream or so to my meals to boost my fatintake?? It seems a little strange to me but I don't know how to use enough fat any other way !!

(I now use about 1600 kcal with about 93 grams of prot., 139 grams of fat and 4 grams of carbs.)

mayonaisse is a fat source. So are nuts.

I get alot of my fat by adding flax oil and heavy cream to my protein shakes.

I use 3 scoops of protein (you may need less) ... Met-Rx makes a good one that is tasty. It's called Protein Plus, Strawberries and Cream flavor.

I start by putting 2 tablespoons heavy cream in a blender. Then I add 12 ounces of water. Then I toss in the tablespoon of flax oil, then the protein. Blend for 15 or so seconds.

The cream adds like 10g fat, and the flax is another 10grams. That's 20 grams fat in 1 shake, plus protein. And it tastes pretty good. 2 of these per day (I do 3 some days ...) plus regular food and you should be on your way.

Cheese is another fat source, but you have to watch that one, since it carries alot of sat. fat with it.

Hope it helps ...

Hi Dan,

Thanx for your reply.
I also use mayonaise ofcourse, but I thought it was very hight in sat. fat. I checked and was very surprised to see that there is only 6% sat. fat is mayonaise!
So, more mayo it is :-)

And once a day I have a shake from soy-milk, with protein and flax-oil (1 spoon) and cream (2 spoons).

Guess I'm not doing as bad as I thought :-)
It's still a little strange to me, to eat so much fat... that's al !
